F-150 XLT Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,561 miles

First noticed a loss of power (complete loss of acceleration) at 9000 miles on road trip when attempting to pass another vehicle. Second time was when I was attempting to accelerate into a higher speed zone and same problem as first. However, the 'wrench' symbol popped up this time and the truck would not accelerate with any power (0-20 was so gradual I thought it would stall). Shut the truck off and returned in 20 minutes to find it had reset and all seemed fine. Third time, clunking followed, squealing when it went into 3rd, and no power. Towed back to shop ( $45 out of pocket that roadside assistance would not cover due to mileage from shop) and service manager advised me that they had found a faulty shift solenoid....I dunno if that was the cause or a casualty of the cause.

Took the truck to the dealer where I bought it. Explained the problem to the technician, waited the entire day and at the end I was told that the problem could not be identified.
