I bought a used 2013 Ford F150 a week and a half ago. The Sync system worked when I drove it off the lot but it has worked only intermittently since. I don't blame the dealer because I have been with the same dealer for the last 31 years and have never had any problems with them. They are very dependable and in almost every case have repaired any problems I have the first time it goes in for repair. I don't know if the truck has been in for repairs before I bought it but in researching this issue on the internet I found that Ford has had problems with the Sync system since it was first marketed.

The dealer has attempted to fix it once. They followed the factory recommendations and it worked for a few days but now I am back where I started and will be taking it in to the dealer again.

Up until yesterday, it would work when I started the car for the first time; however, if I shut if off during the day, the Sync may or may not come back on. Two days ago, it popped once and then worked intermittently after that. Yesterday I went on a short trip and the Sync radio popped loudly twice and then totally quit. It has not worked since.

Ford's problem with Sync are so widespread that there is a web-site dedicated to them called "Sync Sucks." The problems seem pretty much the same in all cases. The system works intermittently or quits working all together. There are also a lot of YouTube videos about the problems.
