problem #2

F-150 XLT 3.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,900 miles

It started yesterday, when heading out of town. Almost a groaning (ghost like) noise from the front end, but only when driving between 25 and 35 MPH and on turns. It either goes away when going faster or it can't be heard over road noise.

engine was making noise, found out it was water pump

When checking for noise mechanic also found Alternator was going bad. I had a plastic elbow for coolant between engine and water pump replaced earlier in year by Warrick Ford dealership and was informed it was not under drivetrain warranty. All of this has occurred in less than 50,000 mile with NO help from Ford. I have purchased 6 Ford pickups (4 of which were new) and 7 cars over the years and am extremely disappointed in quality and Ford's lack of response. All they say is it is out of warranty. If this is example of what I can expect with their products it may be last Ford I ever buy!

Today I had to replace Fog light! I am extremely disappointed in Ford, especially since this vehicle is only 3 years old and less than 50,000 miles.
