F-150 Platnium 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 109,770 miles

Coolant fittings leaking on left side turbo, so I have to remove wheel, tear fender well out, take turbo out, replace quick connect fittings and oil seals, 11 hours labor. The cheapest I can find someone to do it for is $1600.

Strong burning oil smell. It was coming from leaking oil seal on drivers side turbo. I replaced the seal, and it's now better.

F-150 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,947 miles

The vehicle is maintained at the dealer's Quick Lane for oil changes and such. Technician observed oil leak while changing oil. I took vehicle in to service department since I have purchased 7-year/125k mile extended warranty. Ended up being covered under Ford's Power Train warranty (5-years/60k mile). Warranty covered $1,149 bill. They had to replace the gasket on the front engine cover that protects the timing belt/chain. This was the fourth major problem I have had with the same vehicle in less than 45,000 miles in just over three years. Still owe another two and a half years of payments, this truck sucks!

Update from May 5, 2018: Update:

Now have 61K at 4.5 years of original ownership. No more problems with leaking oild to date.
