F-150 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

While performing my own oil change, I noticed transmission fluid leaking from the seal of the bell housing. I can't check the fluid level because there's no user-accessible transmission dipstick. According to the manual, you HAVE to bring it into a dealer to check the fluid. I have no idea how much fluid I've lost because it doesn't end up on the ground, it ends up soaking into the carpeted rock guard underneath. Had I not changed my own oil, I would have never known. Kind of a silly leak to happen on a new truck.

leaks, noticed after 2 days of purchase

Midway Ford in Miami charges $699 "DEALER SERVICES" fee on purchase, but I guess I only get a wash job for that! One would think a $35,645 + TTT truck would have been inspected before being delivered. Guess I should have bought an import (even if it is make in the USA, they seems to have better control of their products). I realize it will probable be an easy fix (just hope it's not a Monday or Friday car).
