torque converter locking up when letting accelerating

this is a very dangerous situation when pulling into traffic. sometimes you have to give it a little more gas than usual to jump into traffic. it has happened at least 3 times already were the rear tires will lock up suddenly when letting off the gas from a fast acceleration. but only happens for a second before going back to normal. now my torque converter is making a off tune/beat ticking noises here and there. But can be noticeably when accelerating harder than usual. I am afraid one of these days it will lock and stay locked in traffic causing an accident. I wonder if anybody else has had this issue. I love the truck to death but now I have a small ticking sound coming from my torque converter.
