I purchased my 2013 Ford F150 three weeks ago, certified pre-owned from mountain view Ford in chattanooga, tn. While pulling out of my driveway this morning, the truck was engaged in 4X4H mode, (due to inclement weather) it started making a terrible popping noise that sounded like the front left tire was coming off as I was turning to the right. I pulled over and let the car idle for a while. I then kept driving and when going up a steep hill it started doing it again, so I pulled over at a gas station and the loud popping/banging noise happened again as I was turning left this time. It was so loud it startled the customers who were fueling their vehicles. Sounded like a piece of metal snapping in two. Is this related to NHTSA # 10058199" or Ford tsb 44964" I had to disengage the 4X4H and put my truck back in 4X2H a to make the noise stop. We had icy roads this morning, which is the reason I purchased a 4X4 to begin with.

Purchased truck in March 2014 & since have had over 10 flat tires. Took truck to dealership & was told tires are cracking due to being driven on a gravel road. Was not aware that the vehicle we purchased was not suitable to be driven on the gravel roads we live on. Tires are a safety hazard for anyone that drives on gravel roads.

I bought a 2013 F-150 with 7 miles on in 8/2013. At 22,000 mile the inside of the front passenger tire was bald. Both rear tires was bald in the center. Ford service adviser and the service manager told me that the F150 trucks where "eating the tires off". the dealer ship got me a credit towards new tires but although these where factory installed they said 50% was the best they could knock off the price. My alignment was off on the front by.01 degrees and they said they had verified tire rotation had occurred that it was a malfunction in the tire caused by the truck.

There was a clunking noise and then grinding noises, particularly loud when applying the brakes. I stopped at the nearest tire/brake center (tires plus, 2975 university pkwy, sarasota fl). They found that the front right brake caliper bolts were completely missing and the inside of wheel was grooved where it had been rubbing against the bolt before it broke off. They advised taking it to Ford, which I did. Ford kept the car and fixed the caliper and replaced the wheel with a new wheel, but did not have any explanation for how bolts could work loose.

Since approximately 5700 miles, when I take long trips in the vehicle (30+ miles), the TPMS light will come on with a message saying "tire pressure sensor fault." If I continue driving the light will eventually turn off and occasionally come back on in the trip. The light has always come on at freeway speeds. The truck has been brought into the service department multiple times without any guaranteed fix. The service department did replace a faulty, non-responsive TPMS sensor, but the problem continues. The issues usually occurs at night, but has happened in the daytime.

Bad steering vibration when braking at highway speeds. Took vehicle to dealer and they indicated warped rotors that had to be machined back to proper surface - already!. vehicle is only a few months old, only approx. 15K miles. Have noticed online that others have had the same issue. This seems like a safety concern with Ford using sub-standard brake rotor materials. Additionally, the vehicle would drift to the left - dealer indicated alignment issue, but required $450 additional kit in order to allow for adjustment since it was already at peak of specs (vehicle has never had alignment since it was new, vehicle has never had an incident that would cause misalignment). Vehicle seems unsafe with these issues and now that the rotors are 'thinner' due to the resurfacing, the warping will likely occur more frequently until they (and other brake parts and/or suspension and steering parts) need to be replaced. This can lead to premature brake, component, suspension and steering systems wear and/or failure which should be a major safety concern. Ford would not warranty the alignment issue and extra cost nor replacement rotors but only resurface ('turn') the original rotors.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the tires were rubbing against the wheel well and chunks of the tire were peeling off. The contact stated that the failure was caused by the factory after market lift kit that was installed on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician attempted to remedy the failure four times by cutting part of the wheel well out. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,800.
