battery low warning light/sensor displays when ignition off

Problem occurs when the ignition switch is turned off and prior to exiting the vehicle. until you open the door the radio or cell phone through the radio works. Suddenly today a "low" battery warning message appears and a "battery icon" appears on the gauge cluster appears. You are instructed to turn the key OFF. This truck in new, bought in July and has only 7000 miles. Checked the F150 Forum and this has been a reoccurring problem for Fords for several years. The dealers charge batteries, check voltages and alternators and essentially give you the runaround. One post on the F150 Forum indiates that a faulty Key Sensing Switch located in the steering column is to blame. As usual the dealers are reluctant to make the repair...particularly under warranty. This should be a recall item on vehicles displaying the problem; we'll see. The Ford Forum is full of this problem...someone needs to contact Detroit and get the engineers to resolve this problem. Planned on taking this rig around the country ...but I don't think so now! Just another Ford lemon....should have known better...haven't had a Ford since 1985 and now I know why.
