F-150 XLT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Throttle body failure. Ford already stated it was not covered under any warranty. I was driving 70 mph on major highway with nowhere to pull over and a giant wrench light comes on. I lost acceleration and pulled over after I coasted over a small bridge. I had to call AAA for a tow as I was about to encounter a huge bridge I had to cross.

Light came on once before and Ford could not help since the light wasn't on the last time. Last time it occurred, I was just starting the truck in driveway. This time I was driving.

F-150 XLT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

At 60 mph and accelerating, I lost all power. Had to limp home 5 miles at 4 mph. Restarted it and it ran okay. I took it to the dealer who scanned the OCB but no codes. He said it might be the throttle body. Instructed to limp back to the dealer the next time it happens. This problem is dangerous. If you pull onto the highway and this happens, YOU DIE!!

F-150 XLT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 118,000 miles

My truck is on it's 3rd Throttle Body, Same problems when it failed. Goes into Limp Mode BUT doesnt throw a code. I had a local ford garage look at it when it happened the first time and they had no clue as what to do although i had read up on it on some message boards. Their response was that if it didnt throw a code there wasnt anything that they could do for me. Davies Ford in Connellsville Pa stepped up and took care of it with no problem.
