F-150 Lariat 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

The heated/vented seats functionality went out on the truck. To add insult to injury, the dealer went ahead and changed the $120 diagnostic fee to "confirm it's not working", without a call or consent. The amount was refunded in time but still annoying.

The problem stems from insufficient grounding to the heat/cool control box under the passenger seat. The pigtail is burned up right where the ground wire plugged into the box...may fix this myself in the future...but it may just burn up again...

seat temperature control not working properly seat temperature control not working properly seat temperature control not working properly seat temperature control not working properly

Front seat back cooling system (TED) is malfunctioning. When seat cooling is selected, after 30 minuets, the back of the front seats reach extreme temperatures, resulting in burning everyone that touches the back of the front seats. I've measure the temperatures, at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can reach up to 150 degrees or more! Please reference F150 owners comments and thermal pictures proving this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed ASAP, at the web address: http://www.f150forum.com/f118/cooling-seats-your-seat-backs-working-properly-304154/

F-150 Lariat 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 855 miles

Ford really screwed up on the climate controlled redesigned seats for 2015. There is no way they could of ever worked for anyone the way they are designed. Didn't they even test if the seatbacks would cool instead of getting hot?

Of course the dealer tells everyone they all do that.. But that doesn't make it better if none of them work.

So I just ran truck for 15 minutes and the back of the seat near the output of the TED reached 123F. That was with no one in the seat...

F-150 Lariat 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

Purchased the Lariat option for the cooled seat and the cooling option only works for about 2 minutes. The seat backs then begin to heat up. I have to turn the cooling off. Dealer ship says theres nothing they can do until Ford sends out a recall on the seats. Please fix
