Well, I have had 3-4 f150s and by far this 2015 is the worst truck I have ever owned. From day one of having the truck, problems happened, from the doors to windshield washer fluid tank freezing. I had the doors into 3 different dealers and still is not correct but least the door ajar light is out now. Then transfer case front seal starting leaking fluid - Ford did replace that for free.

No clues to why or the fix on windshield solvent still freezes when cold. So onto the start of this post trans winds down like it is engaged into 4WD but it is out of 4WD. There is no solution to this problem. Then you can talk about a rough idle at lights when come to a stop, or the truck stalls out completely. Other than those problems, it been a good truck for 60 grand. And on top of it, I bought 3 new vehicles this year - what a joke.

My truck would make a grinding noise & vibration when I was doing under 25 mph. I have had it in the Ford dealership twice for this problem; they replaced all of the bearings, along with some other parts. The last time I got it back, it sounded worse than ever & does it more frequently. It is still not fixed & they act like they aren't aware of any other issues like this.

Update from Sep 26, 2018: After taking my truck back to the ford Dealership 5-6 times for the noise & vibration (and calling the manufacture to file a consumer complaint), I was told by the dealership that there is a service bulletin regarding the transmission clutch. They had to replace the clutch & transmission band. The noise seems to be gone for now, however I still feel a vibration in the pedals when in the lower gears.

at acceleration about 35-40 mph, sometimes a spinning grinding sound comes from under the truck. sounds like gears not meshing or metal to metal spinning. dealership could not duplicate but i have it on my phone video and audio.

I have video of this. Auto Nation in Mobile, AL tried to lie to me and state it was a normal characteristic even after Mechanic rode with me and stated he would need the vehicle for a week to get parts and fix. I took it back another time and the mechanic said he didn't know what I was talking about and I had to berate the Service Manager after which I took it back a third time and they printed off a TSB stating the planetary gears in the transfer case had to be replaced. It is still doing the same noise and shudders and vibrates through drivetrain now. Ford in Imperial California refused to help with rental even though I have been told Ford guarantees rentals for vehicles over 40k in price. So to date the problems have not been corrected and I am at 62K.

Took vehicle to dealer for oil change and to investigate vibration issue on Nov 9th. Vibration occurred when entering expressway above 55 mph under light / medium throttle. Dealer thought the issue was the front right hub assembly but that did not solve the issue. So they ordered a torque converter and removed the transmission pan. Technician stated that some water was in the pan. Ford denied warranty coverage. The technician at the dealership stated that I must have drove into a river as water would be almost up to the drivers window for it to leak through the vent. Apparently I am an idiot that would do this to my daily driver. They asked if I have been off-road with the vehicle. I have been down dirt roads with normal water levels from rain but nothing excessive. Apparently even with the FX4 package the vehicle shouldn't be taken off-road. Now that the vehicle is torn apart in their shop, they want me to pay out of pocket or call insurance. Talk about leaving someone with no options. For my first Ford vehicle, it definitely is not a good experience.

My transmission makes a loud grinding noise when lugging down in 4th or 5th gear. I believe the problem is the transmission fails to downshift so the engine and transmission make a loud grinding noise (torque converter?) I brought a technician from my dealer for a ride and showed him the noise. I can make it happen every time by going up a steep him and letting the truck lug down in 4th or 5th gear. The tech heard the loud noise and said the truck should not do that. My truck spent 2 days in the shop and they had tech support on the phone all day checking different parameters.I got a call from the regional Customer Support person stating that the truck had gone through a major update in 2015 and this noise was a normal characteristic of the new design. The dealer had taken a new truck off the lot and it made the same noise. Based on that fact, Ford came up with the story about the "normal characteristic" of the new design. I was told by a tech at a different dealer that he had heard the noise on a truck from a customer that was in for the hard downshift problem.

When driving on the road the truck will get a slightly vibration in truck. not to the point of death wobble, but it is noticable. This doesnt happen all the time that is the issue

The vehicle vibrates through the accelerator, and makes a grinding noise when in 4A. The manual states that this setting can be used in ANY road conditions and we drive about 30 miles of dirt road a day to and from our ranch. This vibration/noise can be heard and felt in the steering wheel as well. One time, the vehicle would barely accelerate and sounded like it was coming apart. I am told by the dealer that some but not all of these vehicles have the issue. Ford denies any issue, and blames the use of the vehicle in 4A (does the manual lie?). The truck does this in 4 wheel high and 4A. It does this in a straight line under normal acceleration. With all my experience with vehicles over my lifetime, this is a major problem and I would not have purchased this vehicle if I would have known.

I will be pursuing this, and expect Ford to fix it. We have spent over 300K on Ford vehicles in the last 10 years. This doesn't count the 5 Mazdas we purchased when Ford still owned Mazda. This may be the last Ford I buy. Sad, because I am first in line for the new Raptor at my dealership, but I understand it has the same transfer case, so unless they admit the issue and fix it, I won't be buying one.

In addition, we have the FX4 package, and the shocks are so bad on the dirt road, the truck is dangerous and scary to drive. My wife drives it under the speed limit for the roads as it jumps all over and slips around feeling like it wants to head into the ditch. We traded her BMW X1 that could be safely driven at 60+ MPH on these same roads. The BMW makes this "Truck" look silly on the roads and was very stable. SAD! We have tried adjusting tire pressure etc. to no avail. My Raptor loves these roads, and as a professional driver and in my humble opinion, the new Lariat is dangerous and unpredictable. Shame on Ford!!!!!
