F-150 King Ranch 3.5L Egoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 360 miles

I am complaining about my transmission slipping or sliding during shifting? maybe because of 3.31 gears.

especially noticeable when puling 3000# trailer. and I want to be able to pull a 8000# trailer for traveling?

Can this be adjusted electronically by dealer? What else can I do?

Thank you, Dave

This doesn't really seem to fit any of the categories exactly so I pick "not shifting correctly"; does anyone know what a spring wind up toy that has the tension on the spring released all at once sounds like? Well on five occasions over a two year period, while accelerating, transmission down shifts from fifth to fourth, and it happens; sounds terrible, its sudden, with out warning, and only for a second or two. It doesn't seem to affect the drivetrain, meaning I don't lose rpm or speed but an issue nevertheless. I was told by a Ford service manager that is a friend that it sounds like a valve body sticking issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Ford can't find the problem. The truck has been in 3 times and nothing shows up on the computer. When driving on the highway for longs periods of time then sitting in stop and go traffic the transmission will shift into a low gear or sometimes neutral. First time this happen was leaving a toll both almost got run over. Seems to be temperature related. Nobody at Ford can tell me what normal operating temp is for the transmission but I will say it runs at over 205 degrees on a normal day. According to the dash digital reading.

This truck is everything except Ford Tough! They can only fix if they have one of there services guys experience the issue but it is hard to duplicate. happens about once a week now but still no warning lights come on. They have instructed me to bring it in when it acts up without shutting it off. done this and they got nothing. I do have a video.

Ford just seems like this isn't a big deal and doesn't want to stand behind the problem. The dealership wants me to leave it there and not even give me a loaner because Ford doesn't think its a big deal. Looking for any help or someone that can tell me what is normal operating temperature of the transmission.

F-150 Lariat 3.5L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission

transmission upshifts too soon, all gears

Transmission shifts too soon, out of first at about 7mph, out of second about 12mph, out of third about 15mph. Truck feels like a manual shift in too high a gear with a slight bucking sensation. Service can't confirm due to roads around dealer higher speed than our neighborhood where truck is driven most.

Using Sport setting improves low speed driving but holds third too long on main roads. Adaptive transmission apparently not working as I have driven several days manually shifting through the gears to see if it learns my preference. VERY POOR DRIVEABILITY. This is our third EcoBoost vehicle, our 2011 was excellent and our SHO Taurus perfect, this truck is disappointing, a friend just bought an identicle F150 and he has the same issue.
