This is the third intake manifold needing to be replaced. Problem is the manifold is on national back order. Who knows when I can get one. Ford should have recalled this item it is a poor design to keep failing. I think the Feds should be looking into this.

While driving on a busy highway with no warning my F-150 lost power. When this happened the drive power decreased by about 95%, and warnings appeared on the dashboard. These warnings included: service advance trac, hill descent fault, see manual, airbag fault, and the service wrench. The engine idled roughly and the vehicle had to be turned off. We restarted and the same issues occurred so we parked the vehicle.

Brand new truck with less than 8k miles on it. It began shuddering at 60mph and engine light started flashing and would not recover. Continued running rough until I was able to nurse it to the dealership.

I understand that these things happen, my beef is that Ford is well aware of the issue. TSBs 17-0007 and 17-2077 were issued but these are not proactive solutions. They state to change the cylinder heads upon certain codes or low oil pressure indications. However, this is only when a customer gets an indication. In my case, it came without warning, and after the dealership ran the code, I was told the next day that I was authorized a long block engine change under warranty. Yes, they changed the engine and I didn't pay a dime. But I didn't have my truck for 2 weeks, (had a dealership rental car..not a truck), and now instead of having a fine running machine installed in a factory, my engine was installed at a local dealership that I've already been back to 3 times for issues from the engine installation, to include unsecured clamps (resulting in a broken sensor) and missing bolts in my radiator. This totally sucked the joy out of owning a new vehicle especially after spending a lot of money. Ford needs to recall these motors and be proactive, not handle it on a case by case basis where owners are left with an engine swap, multiple visits to the dealership and no faith in the product.

Went in for an oil change, was told the vehicle was low on oil. No leaks though. Figured it wasn't full when I purchased it off the lot (10 miles). Turned my car on the other day, engine light blinking and then solid. Was misfiring and shaking at idle (13,900 miles). Went straight to the dealership, contacted them the next day. Was informed that the codes they read flagged them to contact Ford. Ford contacted the dealership back (certified Ford dealership) that they have to replace the engine. Said they aren't going to take it apart just replace it with a new motor. I asked the associate if he has seen this problem before, said yes, a few months back with the same make and model engine. Sounds like a lemon, as soon as the new motor is, in I will be going to the sales side with 0 miles on my new engine, 2016 F-150 XLT, and trade it in for something else.

I bought a new 2016 on January 18th 2017. Had 20 miles on it when I drove off the lot...6 days later the check engine light came on........ Take it to dealer and they say it needs new heads!!!!!!!! After 6 days and 1011 miles!

Dealer still has it, been over 30 days and they still cant seem to get it right.

SO disgusted with Ford right now.

Engine knocks sounds like a diesel. Dealer is trying too repair. I have only put three hundred mile on truck. Never have been over 50 miles per hour. This is the second time I have taken to dealer. They are replacing Cams??

So, do I trust the vehicle or start building a lemon to put in the BED OF THE TRUCK?

I have my 2016 Ford F150, 3.5 Ecoobost. I just got this on Sept 26, 2016 with 2750 km on it. It was really good but after three days of driving I got messages showing at dash board saying hill decent assist and traction control are off. The main issue is not the messages but the lost of throttle which almost no engine response. For many times (about 20+) I experienced these and I just turned off the engine and turned on again until the messages are gone and gained my throttle. Those past experience happened when I am about to leave my garage or some parking areas somewhere. However today, Dec 15, 2016, while I am leaving from work I had to turned off and on for 4 times until I eradicated the messages and got my engine respond normally. While on a road of 80km per hour, the messages came up again and lost my engine response. So for about 3 stop lights I have to turn off and turn on the engine to get rid of the problem which I thought it was just the same as in the previous days.

I was wrong. When I am approaching the ramp to highway 417, the messages came up again and lost my throttle. I was driving in fear considering that I might get hit from the back because the engine was not able to respond properly. I called the dealership to book me an appointment and fix this issue because I don't want to drive a new truck but defective and firmly believe an accident prone issue.

When I first experience this problem I called dealership and they advised me to drive the vehicle while the messages are showing/ engine check. I ignored it because I can just turn it off and turn it again and it works fine. But today, it is totally a different scenario and oh man it's dangerous!!!

As of now the truck is at dealership and hopefully they'll fix the problem. I hope and pray they will.

i am going ti be killed if the problem is not going to be fixed soon. the truck stops in the middle of the highway , and hope no other carswill hit me the throttle was replaced nce already but no result so far. but it is the same problem stopping in the middle of the highway can't do any thing but wait and hope no cars is going to hit me and die

Check engine light came on around 7500 miles. Dropped off at dealership on 4/5/16. Was told that it was a defective throttle body. After not hearing from the dealer for 2 weeks I spoke to the service manager on 4/21/16 who indicated there was a 'national back order' for the throttle body and they did not expect it to ship until 4/28/16. Called to follow up on 4/29/16 and was told the part would not ship until 5/3/16. Our department has already gone through throttle body issues with 2010 Fusions. To the point where I will no longer recommend we go back to Ford when the time comes to order more vehicles. This is completely unacceptable.
