F-250 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,000 miles

Never had a problem with a transmission before. All these years you think Ford would be able to build a trouble free transmission.

F-250 Lariat 6.2L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,105 miles

I just bought this truck from a dealership with little over 61,500 miles on it. There is a slight slip or hesitation in the transmission when shifting. Definitely don't like this, especially after the money I spent for it.

F-250 Lariat 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I commute for 40 miles everyday and after reaching the destination I will but the transmission immediately into reverse (after coming to a full stop) and the transmission will skip. The transmission will be in Reverse but nothing happens, engine RPM's increase and then after about 3-6 seconds the transmission will engage. Which obviously isn't good at increased RPM's. I've learned to slowly accelerate just incase it doesn't engage.

After some extensive research with a FORD transmission mechanic I've been told that the transmission pump is losing its prime and would need to be replaced. Work was quoted at $1400. I've never had the work completed because the issue is tolerable.

F-250 Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Took truck to get it serviced and it came out of the dealer with a humming sound under the hood that it never

had before. Took it back and they told me it was a vacuum pump and that it was normal ??

Why didn't it do this before?

And when I'm coming to a stop, it downshifts really hard-makes a very loud shift noise. Really bad.

F-250 XLT 6.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

I brought this truck to the dealership, and they saw the issue. I received a completely new transmission installed on my vehicle because they couldn't figure it out. The day after i got my truck back i noticed it was still shifting hard, gear hunting. I will be bringing it back to the dealership tomorrow and hopefully getting a new truck because this is ridiculous. I will never own another ford in my life.

F-250 XLT 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

I started looking online because I was having issues with the transmission and the dealer could not figure out what was wrong after reading up I see that others are having similar issues,, My transmission is shifting very hard, the motor seems to rev up sometimes as its shifts and sometimes it can't find the right gear and clunks very hard almost shaking the truck.

F-250 XL 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

occasionally the transmission shifts hard enough to chirp the tires, the rpms flare sometimes and when you are coasting at low speeds and repress the accelerator it cant decide what gear and knocks very hard, brought into the dealer several times and they cant figure it out.
