The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed over a bridge, without warning, the vehicle began to shake uncontrollable. The contact took his foot off the accelerator pedal, coasted the vehicle to the shoulder of the road, and engaged the brake pedal which stopped the vehicle from shaking and the vehicle resumed normal driving. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure needed to be diagnosed, and to bring the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact mentioned NHTSA Campaign number: 20E090000 (Steering, Suspension, Equipment) as a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

When I am driving about 60 ish miles per hour and I hit a bump or like a small pot hole my truck's steering starts to shake and the entire frontend shakes so badly that I cannot control the truck until I can get it stopped. It does not do it all the time it happens all of a sudden. I have put new tires on the truck, new front end parts, had it aligned and it just keeps happening. It has been going on since the truck had 110,000 miles just out of my warranty but the Ford dealer just kept telling me it was the tires. This morning it was the worst that it ever have been.

Experiencing a "death wobble". at speeds of 50mph or more, on paved highways and streets, when hitting a bump a just the right angle, the front end will begin to shake violently. If feels like the entire front of the vehicle is coming apart. Episode may last as long as 15 seconds. Have replaced the front shocks, steering stabilizer, and numerous other parts as recommended by tipton motors (brownsville, Texas Ford dealership) and problem still exists.

While driving my 2015 F250 the front end began to shimmy and shake violently at 50 mph. Truck was wobbling all over and to begin quick deceleration and slight braking. Once truck dropped to about 20 mph the symptoms stopped. Looked over truck and saw no obvious issues. I drove slowly to repair shop and they checked over front end and stated would need traction rod, stabilizer and ball joints as this is known issues on 2005-2019 Super Duty vehicles. Ford dealer said they were unaware of any recall or issues but could check it out. If the other garage was corrected it would around $800 to 900 to repair. As I left and made right turn it again shimmied badly and I return to dealer. They suggested leaving truck and they could get to it in a few days. I feel this unacceptable from Ford for a obvious safety issue. Has the NHTSA been aware of this issue and is a recall to protect the consumer large investment in order? these trucks are not cheap and Ford touts teh moto, built Ford tough> please research and advise if there is a recourse for the consumers that are experiencing these safety issues. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000. The VIN was not available.

The first time it occurred the truck was five years old I was driving on an interstate highway at highway speed, passed over an expansion joint of a bridge, entire truck began to shake uncontrollably, I thought a had blown a tire, but as I slowed to pull to the side of the road, the truck "smoothed out" and I was able to continue on my way. However it happened again two more times that trip, each at highway speed (55-75) and would be "triggered" by small bumps in the road. I took it to a local garage they rotated the tires, did a front end alignment and replaced the steering dampener. Problem continued to reoccur. Has been back to a different garage 4 additional times: Tie rod, drag link, track bar joints/bushings, shocks, all have been replaced, however while at highway speeds small bumps in the road continue to induce uncontrollable front end shaking. So far I have paid just under $2500, the problem continues and my mechanic is unsure what is left to try to correct the problem. Online search reveals this to be the "Ford death wobble".

2015 Ford F-250 4X4 crew cab diesel short bed; while traveling between 50-70 mph, when the truck hits a bump or hole, the truck sometimes shakes violently unofficially explained as the Super Duty death wobble. Truck is uncontrollable until speed has been drastically reduced. Doing so is a hazard in itself for surrounding traffic. Ford Motor Company is aware of this issue and does not identify it as a problem. Up to now there has only been incidents and crashes with or without injury. No fatalities logged. My personal opinion is they will wait until someone is killed before taking action. By officially reporting this to NHTSA, I as well as the many others are hoping that Ford will take responsibility and initiate a campaign to rectify this issue. I have replaced tires, shocks twice, steering stabilizer dampener, rebalanced, realigned and had a complete brake rotor and shoe replacement (all 4) to no avail. I'm in well over $2500 so far and still experiencing problems. I work 78 miles from my residence so I'm logging well over 150 miles per day.

The vehicle front end begins to shake violently, sometimes with a bump in the road, or when I apply the brakes. The problem seems to be getting worse. Very noticeable at highway speeds. Mileage around 130,000, tires showed wear outside edge, new tires from the dealer had to be re-balanced around 50,000 after I bought them, way out of balance. The shaking moves the steering wheel so much so that I could easily loose control if I was not paying attention, very dangerous.

While driving at highway speeds my steering wheel shakes very violently when hitting bumps in road the shaking doesn't go away till I get vehicle slowed down to about 20 mph doing this on a interstate is very dangerous. This is happening more frequently on 10/7/20 this happened and it shook so bad air cleaner came off and vehicle lost power and stopped on highway. Vehicle had to be towed to a dealer. They found the maf sensor became dirty when air filter came off so they clean it test drove vehicle and verified vehicle shaking. They said suspensions looked good but had slight wear on track bar ball joint. They wanted to replace the steering damper and I showed them that it was replaced on 10/6/20 for the same shaking problem. I asked if this would repair the shaking they said they were not sure but it would eliminate it as a possibility. I declined their guessing game at my expense. This shaking problem is going to get someone hurt or killed and Ford needs to get a cure for this problem

The vehicle will start to shake violently when traveling at speeds of 30-50 miles an hour if the road is not smooth. It does not happen all the time. Ford replaced the steering damper but that did not resolve the issue. They are now saying that it may be the traction bar. This is a safety issue as the front end shakes so violently that it almost cause loss of control. This should not happen with a vehicle that only has 107000 miles.

While driving on local roads the steering wheel starts shaking, the front wheels are wobbling and causing the truck to become unstable. In order to maintain control I have to slow the vehicle down until the wobbling stops. It seems to happen on very smooth and flat highways. It first happened around two years after I bought the truck new but I didn't think it was an issue as it only happened on one certain stretch of road that I traveled occasionally. In the last year it has started happening more and more often causing me concern that the truck could become uncontrollable. The truck has been well maintained and has never been used off road or hauled/pulled heavy loads. The stock suspension is not modified/lifted.
