F-350 Lariat 6.0L SD Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,373 miles

First sign of trouble, F350 quit on highway while hauling hay. Got it restarted and load home. Towed into shop, a failed injector. Replaced Month later, died on state highway, no power, no restart, had to roll backward down a hill, into a neighbor's driveway. Towed into shop. Replaced 2 injectors. 30 days later quit on highway with a load of cattle in trailer. Towed into shop, 2 more injectors had collapsed. Drove truck close to home for about 2 weeks, was headed to town, truck quit again, called mechanic he said head his way, and he would head toward me. Got 3 miles, quit. Mechanic took truck from there, quit him 3 times in 5 miles. Mechanic pulled the fuel tank - delaminated of course. Replaced the tank, Cleaned out the fuel lines, etc. Ford Motor Company needs to be hung out to dry ! This is a safety issue, not just a monetary expense. I was almost run over by an 18 wheeler when truck died on the highway. This was a 2 lane road and on a uphill section. The trucker could not see if anything was coming over the hill, I could not pull off the road due to a steep ditch on my side. When the truck quit with the load of cattle in trailer, again on a major highway, it could have been a horrible accident, with numerous injuries, not to mention a huge financial loss of registered cows and calves. Ford's denial of responsibility is criminal negligence and should be handled by the Attorney General as such. Running fairly well now, but still has times it dies after being started. This truck only had 81k miles on it and has been well maintained.
