engine lost power engine lost power engine lost power engine lost power engine lost power engine lost power

We purchased the Ford F350 SuperDuty vehicle in September 2012 and took ownership in November 2012. It was matched up with our 5th Wheel RV as what we needed. It had 115,000 KM when we took ownership. We had it serviced at the local Ford dealership and oil changed at a reputable 3rd party when traveling. On our first trip with the RV, the truck lost power and after examination by the Ford dealer where we were stranded (Grand Falls, NB, Canada), it had to be replaced. The Ford warranty on the engine is supposed to apply for 160,000 km but Ford Canada refused to honour the warranty, even though the diesel mechanic (30 years experience) at the Grand Falls Ford Dealership indicated it should be covered. They claimed initially that we had gotten bad diesel. We proved that was false. They then claimed the turbo had leaked. That was not the case. They then claimed that corrosion had caused contamination of the engine block due to lack of maintenance, before our purchase.

This is outrageous as we took ownership of the vehicle after assurances that the warranty would transfer and be valid. We don't have the previous owner's records and have no way to compel them to give them to us, even if they kept them. A 2010 Truck should not fail like this and Ford should stand behind their vehicle.

Beware of Ford - they are not honourable in their warranty dealings.
