Fiesta SE 1.6L

  • Manual transmission

Just after dropping off a client, my car went into limp mode and the wrench light came on. I made it to the dealership on side streets and the advisor told me they had to diagnose the problem, and quoted 139.00 to that. He later called to tell me that the throttle body needs to be replaced, as well as wire repair and pin relocation. To do all this it would cost $1359.53, and my warranty does not cover it, so no rental either. What could I do besides have it repaired, and add this to the list of problems I've had with this car. He mentioned he has seen this before, and he would open a case with Ford so I can get reimbursed some of what this cost. Ford denied the reimbursement and closed this case, and if I wrote in this complaint what I was told the reason was, I'd sound like a crazy person. I know there is still something wrong with this car, even after all I've had to have replaced or repaired. What a nightmare, my first Ford will be my last, and I'm telling everyone I can about all the issues and to STAY AWAY from Ford!

Fiesta SE 1.6L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

I was on my way to church on a Sunday morning and the cruse control was set. Well the wrench symbol came up and a light that said engine failure service now, and, it wouldn't get over 3000 rpm or 70 mph and the transmission felt like it was slipping. Pulled over on the side of the road and cut car off and back on and the wrench light went away, so did the warning. Got to the store and the car was parked idling and it came up again so I cut it off once more and it went away. It never came on again that day.

The next morning on the way to work it did it again so I took it to the dealership where I bought it. That was Wednesday. They said it was just an oil change light and that they fixed the problem so I picked it up. Thursday morning it broke down again and I took it back over to the dealership. The next Wednesday they said it was ready and that the speed sensor went out so they replaced it. Well that night it broke down on me on the interstate with the same issues going on. So I pulled over at a gas station and cut off the car but this time the wrench light didn't go away. So I turned around and went back home.

The next morning when I went out to take my car to the dealership the light wouldn't come back on but I took it over there anyway and its still over there and they can't find anything wrong with it. If anyone knows how to get rid of this damn car and get in something dependable let me know. It is a 2011 model and they told me that it was a program car because it had 11,000 miles. I bought it and have only had it since December and its been in the shop for the last 3 weeks. From what I have read on the lemon law it doesn't qualify because it was over 30 days and it was a program car.
