problem #3

Fiesta ST 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,688 miles

My Ford Fiesta breakdown on 02 Feb due to engine temperature rise and vehicle suddenly stopped at the middle of the road. This happened on my way to service my car to Ford service centre due to my appointment that day. I was curious because "NO INDICATION" of Temperature rise shown on dashboard screen or any warning bell during this problem for me to take action. The car suddenly stopped and later the Radio screen showed "Temp signal and Transmission!".

I was not sure about the issue due to no steam or smoke at the engine, i assume transmission problem and immediately pushed the car alone to side of the road and called the tow service. After i reached the workshop they said they will check and update me due to all the mechanics was busy. Later in the evening the Service representative called and informed the Engine is spoiled due to temperature rise and i have to bare all the bill for changing the engine. My complaint about the INDICATOR NOT APPEARED was not taken seriously and keep on repeating it's impossible and you have to take responsibility. I discussed again and told him to discuss with his center manager before make the decision.

On 4th Saturday he called and told that Ford Malaysia unable to help and i can do whatever complain i wish to do and conclusion i have to bare the total bill amounting roughly USD4000 (MYR15000). For this value in my Malaysia we can pay for new car down payment or pay my balance with the finance company around USD2800 in total. This is a very huge amount for any Malaysian and painful to use only for repairing cost.

I would like to emphasize here that Ford service failed to even checked on my indicator failure and let me to take the cost or tow out my car. I decided to tow out my Car and sent to nearest Ford specialist which is not a dealer to repair at my own cost. The car still with them now and yet to give the bill for the repair.

I am seeking for support here due to all the sources in Ford Malaysia unable to support and there's no link to Global email to report direct to Ford U.S for this problem. Since purchase the Transmission issue is still unresolved with Shudder and knocking sound while driving and they still telling me and all the owners as characteristic of the car is such. This is the another reason I did not take seriously when the engine sound was rough due to normally that's how my engine sounds due to Transmission problem.

Update from Feb 8, 2017: I am a owner with frequent and good service record with ford Malaysia as per required mileage due. any service or car malfunction will not be my problem due to it was service and maintain by Ford trained or authorized Engineer or mechanics. I truly unable to accept the reason they told its impossible without even test the system.

I have my service record with me if required to send as evidence. At the same time i am trying to putting a complaint to Malaysian consumer authority as well.

Fiesta 1.4L

I love my car but am very disappointed with the service I am receiving at Ford Monument- My car went for Major service on the 3rd Oct. A week later it started to show me the coolant sign. In panic I called the dealer and told them what I am experiencing. They advised to bring the car in to check it.

I took it for checking on the 22nd Oct Saturday spent 2 hours there and was told they do not see anything and the car isn’t showing the light that I keep seeing when I drive. They advised that I should bring it during the week if I see that the problem persists.

I drove to work Monday and upon my return in traffic it showed me the same coolant light and what puzzled me is that the water was getting dried out/finished. Every day I had to pour water in the car and I never experienced that before it went for service. So I took the car in on the 25th Tuesday back so that they can drive it and see what the problem is. I didn’t get any response Tuesday, Wednesday so I called them to ask what’s going on. Were they able to get the problem? They said no, they still trying to see what’s going on and that they will call me back.

I never got any feedback until Thursday when they tell me that they finally found the problem, but as a sales person doesn’t explain to me what the problem is exactly. He just said they wanna see where the water is going. So he advised that they are going to take the head cylinder and take the car in for Diagnosing (as I took a cover for Bumper2Bumper Warranty they cover for such and he called them they advised that he should talk to me and see if am comfortable with that I said yes without a blink of an eye) and some parts also they are going to order them so that it can be fixed until today I haven’t gotten it back.

Yesterday morning when I called to ask how far they are with the car only then he tells me that the part that they ordered hasn’t arrived and another problem is the guy whose allocated to work on my car was off sick and the other people are busy they are fully booked with more than 200 cars. I know that was not true, he was just trying to put me off but and he also said they awaiting another part for delivery!

This is really unacceptable. I now have to use public transport to travel to work and this is the reason why I bought the car in the first place to have peace of mind not stress and trusting the brand Ford I never wanted to go for any other car brand. Sunday it was my birthday I had to postpone all my plans because I felt inconvenienced even when I tell Renier that we have a wedding at my cousins tomorrow I need the car it’s like he doesn’t hear what am saying to him.... can I please get assistance regarding this matter my Reg: BS64DXGP Sales Person Renier Ford Monument. Please help.

Fiesta SE 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

The car broke down on the freeway 44 miles from home. The thermostat light turned out and then the little wrench popped up and said engine malfunction then white smoke starts billowing from under the hood and orange fluid coming from under the car. I had to get it towed. Ford tells me that it can take 1-2 days to diagnose and then there's still the repair. Thankfully my extended warranty covers the engine and rental car because of course they don't have a loaner. The radiator was replaced along with the water pump.
