Fiesta 1.6L Tivct Duratech Dohc

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

My transmission had a recall on it. It had been behaving this way since I bought it brand new. I took it to be fixed and they kept it all day and said it was fixed, and it never was.

Complaint 3 - so after they fixed the transmission about 2 months later I was driving it and it fell like the bottom fell out and immediately after that it was acting up again. I also had a recall notice so I took it in to have everything fixed AGAIN. I think they reset the computer twice and its 3 weeks later and still not working right. I need to take it back again in 2 weeks.

Its ridiculous that I have a brand new car and I'm afraid to drive it. So happy it's just a lease. Trying to drive up the interstate going uphill is dreadful because I can't accelerate. Trying to pass a tractor trailer is a death wish. When I go through town it jerks all over the place. It seems the only time the car works is at 10-25 mph not hitting the gas or brake. Or over 80 mph not hitting the gas or brake. It seems to take everything it has to get up to 65 and keep it there. But once you break that barrier you cant get it to slow down.

Definately a lemon and can't wait for this lease to be over before the car kills me.

Super annoying. Feels like driving with someone who is new at driving a manual.

Update from Apr 28, 2015: Super annoying, feels like someone new driving a manual. Brought it in to have it fixed, it drove well for a day and a half, then it started again. From what I read here it can't be fixed, so now I don't know what to do.

Fiesta SE 120-Hp, 1.6L-Liter

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I don't like that fact that I have had this problem thinking that I must be getting bad gas or something, and I'm still paying for this car monthly. And I just got a recall notice a few weeks ago. I just got it out of the shop where it was fine for a few days and now it is worse than it was before. The other day I tried to accelerate and it actually stopped, as if I just hit some still big object in the road, only there was nothing in front of me and the car behind me almost hit me. My whole body jerked forward in my seat.

I'm also worried about the new insurance I have through Allstate and the device that I have placed on my car to monitor my driving in order to keep my rate low. If the car jerks like that very often, as it does, what does that mean for my insurance rate? It also sound really bad when driving down the street. I am suppose to be driving a fairly new car, but it sounds like a putt putt at times.

I am taking it back to Ford on Monday for them to try fixing it but since I've read that there is a Class Action Lawsuit pending and that there are many people who have had this and other problems with this model, I'm scared that I might get stuck with a lemon. I plan to try at least two more times before I call the BBB Auto Line and report this problem. No one has money to throw away, at least I know that I don't!! Need to replace or refund this purchase.

Fiesta V4

I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR FROM THE FIRST MONTH I DROVE IT. I PURCHASED IT IN OCTOBER 2012 BUT IT IS A 2013 CAR. I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THE HESITATION PROBLEM IN THE TRANSMISSION UNTIL AFTER I HAD THE CAR FOR ALMOST A MONTH AND NOTICED IT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR SMOOTHLY WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY.

I WENT TO COLORADO FORD IN KINGMAN WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR TO COMPLAIN THAT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR AND COULD CAUSE ME TO GET REAR ENDED WHILE TRYING TO GO ON THE FREEWAY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE WAY IT WAS BECAUSE IT IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION ON A COMPUTER SO IT WOULD BE THAT WAY. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE GRADUALLY AND I COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES AND EVENTUALLY THEY AGREED TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION ON 08/06/2013. THEY FOUND THAT THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE BELL HOUSING AND THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING. IT WAS MORE THAN ALMOST 2 MONTHS LATER ON 09/27/2013 THEY FINALLY FINISHED THE REPAIR. BUT EVEN AFTER THEY DID THE REPAIR THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AND I MADE SEVERAL MORE VISITS AND COMPLAINTS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I REQUESTED THE TRANSMISSION BE CHECKED AGAIN; BUT THEY REFUSED AND SAID IT WAS JUST THE WAY THE CAR ACTS DUE TO THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ON A COMPUTER. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS PEDDLE!! I TOLD THEM I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR!

THE PROBLEM STEADILY BECAME WORSE SO I TRIED NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR UNLESS I HAD TO. ON 11/06/2014 MY HUSBAND HAD A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT AT THE VA IN PRESCOTT ARIZONA AND WE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR. ABOUT 10 MILES FROM THE VA MEDICAL CENTER THE CAR WAS HESITATING WHEN I ACCELERATED. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE SAME ISSUE THE DEALER TOLD ME WAS NORMAL FOR MY CAR. BUT BEFORE I COULD GET TO THE VA, THE GEARS STARTED GRINDING AND SLIPPING. I GOT TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE PARKING LOT AND CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND TOLD THEM WOULD NOT SHIFT AT ALL, THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND A TOW TRUCK TO GET IT. THEY GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER FOR THE MANAGER OF FORD COMPANY AND HIS NAME, (LEEROY). I CALLED HIM. HE CALLED ME A FEW HOURS LATER SO I COULD GET A RENTAL CAR TO GO HOME. THE CAR IS AT GALPIN FORD IN PRESCOTT ARIZONA. THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION MAY HAVE TO BE REBUILT BECAUSE NOTHING THEY TRIED HAS WORKED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I CALLED LEEROY BACK AND EXPLAINED THAT I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUALLY SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT BECAUSE EVEN WHEN IT IS WORKING PROPERLY THE HESITATION WILL ALWAYS BE AN ISSUE AND THE CAR WILL ALWAYS BE UNSAFE IF IT HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING.

I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO POWER WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE. I COULD EASILY BE HIT FROM THE REAR WHILE TRYING TO GET ON THE FREEWAY, OR LEAVING A STOP LIGHT. THIS CAR HAS NO BUSINESS BEING ON THE STREET AND IS INNATELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
