I took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that "it is just the body sealing putty under the paint that has cracked". I was shown two slightly older models on the workshop floor with similar cracks.
at he first service, 15000km, it was brushed under the carpet as insignificant.
at 19000km I went to my insurance who claim a manufacture fault due to the high number of their clients that have Ford Figo circa 2012 and 2013 models with the same problem.
Ford South Africa and the dealer refuse to comment.
I can't wait for Ford SA to explain the missing boot lid if it breaks off the vehicle on the motorway.
