This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
I am seeing so many cars like mine with the paint peeling off the hood just like mine. I don't want to have to pay to have this fixed. I want Ford to correct the problem.

Ford motor company needs to have the hood repainted at no cost to the owner.

BUBBLING PAINT ON ALUMINUM HOOD. ESTIMATE TO REPAIR IS $700. DISAPPOINTED TO READ ON INTERNET THAT THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD AND THEY DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. THEY DO NOT EVEN OFFER TO HELP WITH REPAIR COST.

Brought the bubbling makings on the hood to the dealer attention in early 2013.
The service manager was aware that this car had the problem. He stated that the hood could be painted at my expense however I would mostly continue to have problem.
The service manager would not note my customer concern in writing for my benefit.
In early 2013, I noticed paint began to bubble and year later the paint is now peeling.

I have worked for 2 Ford dealerships for a total of 23 years and find this aluminum hood paint problem hard to believe after buying my 2007 Ford 500 in 2009 for $16,800 with just under 50,000 miles.
I am extremely disappointed that Ford knew full well that this paint was going to separate from the aluminum hood. Above and below the hood and in the interior for the shifter has all bubbled and Ford flat out said "not their problem" when I took it to the dealer. As for the hood, Ford said no they would do nothing and the service manager gave me the name of two body shops and said that the body shops would only replace the hood for about $2000.00.
These marks are going to extremely reduce the resale value of what should be still a very nice car. What else is Ford not telling me about this very expensive mistake? Very Leary. I truly believe they have so little confidence in their autos that is why they have the shortest warranty in the business. Hmmmm.

This is a very nice car and having peeling paint on the hood really affects the looks and value of my car.

There was a 'service Bulletin' for this problem early in my brand-new cars life. Of course I immediately brought my '500' in for repair. They repaired the hood-paint problem where it was evident. Months later, the blistering/flaking showed itself again. When I brought my Ford back for further repair, the service manager explained that they "fixed" the problem once and that's ALL they were obligated to do !
I responded to him by saying, "Guess when the next time I buy another Ford will be!"

There was a well-known service bulletin for this vehicle's brakes. The dealership 'repaired' those ONCE also. Upon completion of repairs, I asked the service manager why the brakes failed so quickly. He responded with two words. --Sh*tty Brakes--
