Well it all started at a Ford dealership in September of 2009. I was looking at the ford focuses because they had one of the best gas milages out of any of the cars on the lot at that time. The car was a 2000 Focus ZTS with only 35,000 miles. The dealership was asking a firm $6000 for the car even though the blue book value at the highest dealership price was $4500. So being a dumbass i decided i would take the car. So i put down $1000 and set a date for when i would pick it up. The day before i was gonna get it some kid at the dealership sideswiped a yellow pole at a gas station in my car. I asked the dealership if they would fix it and take $1000 off the price because i knew it was damaged. They said no. Again like the dumbass i am i still took the car. They fixed the damage but that was just the beginning of the hell the Ford Motor Company has put me through. Six months after i left the lot the dealership warranty ran out. Then begins ALL of the problems! First my fuel pump went out. When i took it to my mechanic he said the OEM Ford fuel pump had already been replaced which means this would be the cars third fuel pump. No car should EVER need a fuel pump before 35,000 miles EVER! Anyways. The next problem occured when my key got stuck in the ignition and as i tried to fanagle it out it broke off and lodged a piece of my ignition into the stearing collumn. This called for an ignition and steering collumn replacement plus two new keys. The keys had to be electronically configured so they costed about $85 a piece on top of the $900 bill. The next thing would be the wheel bearing that completely blew out on the PA turnpike which then ate away at the rear passenger axel. Both had to be replaced. The next incident was in the winter of 2010. I had parked my car for about an hour and one of the radiator hoses cracked and was leaking onto the engine fan therefore spraying everywhere. So i decided to take it to the Pep Boys down the road (DONT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO PEP BOYS!). They charged me $400 for a hose. The next issue was in the summer of that year. I was parked in the middle of the city and when i got in my car and went to start it nothing happened. No turnover noise, nothing. So i did some research on my phone and someone said to turn you fan to the number 3 speed and your car will start. So i laughed and decided to try it and ................ it actually worked. But you shouldnt need to turn on a fan to start your car!?!? Anyways. After that the next problem occured that winter which was a continuance of the last electrical problem. I got stranded at my ex girlfriends house for 3 days because my car wouldnt start. I got it towed to my mechanic and he ran some test and couldnt find anything wrong with it so he just decided to replace the battery. The next thing was another cracked radiator hose which only cost me $60 this time because i didnt go to Pep Boys. Next I was leaving work, got a flat tire, and tried to fix it. unfortunatly Ford puts little pieces of sheet metal over the lug nuts and one fell off which caused me to strip the lug nut. Then i had to get it towed to my mechanic and he had to torch it off. There were so many problems that i cant remember all of them but i know the last thing was about two months ago. The remaining 3 wheel bearing that werent replaced before were going bad and needed fixed. So in the end i spent $5000+ repairing this car! If i can give one piece of advice i would say NEVER buy a Ford Focus, or Ford, or an American car in general. From here on out im getting a only asian made cars. They are more dependable, they last longer, and are cheaper to fix!

Focus ZX3 2.0L

I bought this car about a month ago and then I started having problems. The engine would rotate but wouldn't fire. Well after listening to the car when you would turn the key over we noticed the fuel pump wasn't making any noise. Turns out these cars have recalls on there fuel pump and the old owner never took it in. Well the car is now ten years old so I wasn't able to take it in. I am lucky how ever because the gentlemen who sold it to me offered to fix it at no charge but im assuming if it wasn't for him the car would have been over $200 to fix just for the part not including labor. Other then this and a trunk I have to open from the inside, This is a decent car.
