Focus

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

The air bag light randomly comes on, not consistent. I've checked to see if there has been any Ford recalls for the problem but it appears there hasn't been any, or Ford just isn't reporting it. My husband has a 2000 Focus and he has the same problem. Seems strange that there are two cars with the same problem and they're 7 years apart.

Focus SE 2.0L Duratec

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,061 miles

I'm a senior citizen, a snowbird who only uses this auto for groceries and church 6 months of the year, hence the low mileage of 13,000 on this car. We obviously didn't wear out the seat belt/ airbag communication device! Paid $550 to repair airbag/seat belt "communication device".

Seems like Ford should have covered cost of repair like Hyundai did for my Sonata.

Focus SE 2.0L I-4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

So I bought my 2007 Focus in 2009 from Advantage Chevrolet in Bolingbrook, IL. The car had roughly 27,000 miles on it and currently has about 73,000 miles on it. Regular maintenance has always been conducted, but more recently (around 50,000 miles) the airbag light will randomly come on and off, especially after hitting a bad bump. I have tried going to different Ford dealerships and they could never "replicate the problem." There was one day though the light was on and I took it to my local Ford dealership and kept the car running instead of turning it off. They ran it though codes and it came up a loose wire. Had it fixed at a small cost and a month later it came back and they still don't know whats wrong. It just worries me that my passenger, as well as myself, could get into an accident and neither airbags deploy. Don't know what to do at this point, might start looking around for a different car.

Focus SES

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

Our family bought a 2007 Ford Focus SES for the sake of fuel economy. I am not sure of the exact date but sometime after we bought the vehicle, the passenger airbag senor system light came on and has been on ever since. The front suspension of the car also rattles and makes a lot of noise when driving. However I can not really complain about that since we live on dirt roads and the car does take a beating. The airbag is annoying and a safety concern, on the contrary however, the focus has been a good car overall.

Focus LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,900 miles

The airbag light in my ford focus will not go out. This is not the first time this light has come on and will not go out. I took it back to the dealer. He fix it one time in 2008 and i cqll him again in 2009. But somehow it went out before i could take it back in. Now it is back on again. My warraty is up on my car. I only had a warraty for 36000 miles. And now he want me to pay to fix it. I feel that the dealer dont fix it right the first time that is why it keep coming back on. I know i call the dealer more than 1 time about this problem. He claim i only call him only 1 time. I will never buy another ford again.
