Focus LS 3.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 88,693 miles

My 2009 Ford Focus and always made terrible noises on the suspension, especially if I am in town driving. Now today, 07/31/2017 I have to replace Tie Rod ends and struts which is costing me $943 !!! I have 88,695 miles on it. Suspension problems should be a recall from FORD !!! How do you contact Ford to complain and see if they will give me back any of my repair cost ?

Focus S 2.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,351 miles

The suspension is mushy. When going over a speed bump I have to slow down to a crawl and still the front end goes up and down. Its seems like its going to bottom out.

Hitting a small bump the suspension bottoms out and goes "bang".

This is a fairly new car. I am getting rid of it.

No more fords for me!!!

Another thing is that I had to take this piece of crap to a dealer to get the cooling system flushed. Ford has a design that a place like Jiffy Lube et al cannot change it for me because Ford has locked it up.

So now I have to get to a dealership on the weekends at 6:00 am because I work all week, stand in line and go through a cue called "quick lane". Ha!!!! What a joke!!!

In by 8:00 am out by noon depending on what the heck I need to get done. Trouble is I don't want to spend any money on this car, but I don't need to drive it into the ground either.

Oh, I don't want to forget the cost of the quick lane assessment $35.00 to tell me I need to spend more money at about $50.00 dollars an hour plus parts. What a racket. It sucks really bad.

Ford Sucks!!! And so do I for buying one!!!!

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

Squeaking, very loud at times. I took it in while still under standard warranty. The dealer mechanic put 90miles on it and told me I needed new tires. What ever...I'm no idiot but went along with it. Cost $600 bucks. REALLY...They said the noise was fixed. I drove out of lot and the noise was still there. I could have screamed. I called the 800 number and left complaint...of course there was no correspondence from Ford. I have owned Fords my whole life...but never ever again.

Focus SES 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,000 miles

My 2009 Ford Focus SES has been having a problem since about 3,000 miles where if you hit a speed bump, enter a parking lot wrong, or hit a pothole hard enough that it thunks so loud that you feel as if the drivetrain is going to come flying out from underneath the hood. It's bad enough to where if you hit a speed bump at over about 8 MPH, it's going to happen!

I've taken the car to Ford of Kirkland (where I bought the car new) and was informed that there was an updated part that should take care of the problem - control arms. Obviously this didn't do it. I informed them that the problem was still evident and they mentioned that they could not "reproduce the problem." It's pretty easy to make it do it, so I think next time I will show them myself. I'm just wondering how many people are having this problem, I've found quite a few on the 2008 Focuses so it's obviously something that didn't get fixed during the model year revisions! I just hope to get this taken care of, because god knows what kind of havoc it's wreaking underneath the hood of this thing.
