Focus ES

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,450 miles

Since the day I purchased this car it has run really rough. It makes a loud grinding noise. It also hesitates for a moment to accelerate and then lurches forward. I get "free" oil changes at my dealership, which was payed for by being a VIP member. For the first year and every so often I will mention this issue. I am always told that its normal and not really a problem. They will change the transmission fluids and it won't grind as loud or lurch as abruptly for a few weeks. Then it will go back to normal. This issue has never been fixed, and they act its no big deal.

Focus

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I bought this car on the 12th of June 2015 and that day it ran nice and smooth. By the following day it started to hesitate after a complete stop and jerked really bad as I step on the gas. It jerks when accelerating and it gets worse when the gas tank is at half a tank.

Took it for service around the 14th or 16th of June. They said it was normal and even got paper work where it says something about the transmission. The technician said that it had to do with the new transmission that Ford developed for their newer cars in order to run better and smooth and save customers on gas. I didn't believe that BS. My father was a mechanics and I kind of had an idea it was not true.

It continues to do the same thing but now it is worse since now there is a noise when it jerks and it is heard in the front part of the car. Will be taking it to a different dealership to get it checked and hopefully now they tell me the truth about it. Took it to Tires Plus but they said that since it had warranty that they could not do anything because then the warranty will be voided. Therefore planning to schedule appointment at another dealership this weekend.

I pray to God that this car don't stall on me on the highway or anywhere where there is too much traffic. I am a disabled person and can't be driving this kind of vehicle. It is a shame that Ford continues to sell vehicles with this kind of problem. They should do something about it before there is a huge lawsuit against them for faulty vehicles.

If I would have known that it was going to be this bad, I would of fixed my old 2002 Ford Focus ZX5 and continued to use that one since it did not have this much of problems.

I took my 2013 Ford Focus in for repair. They replaced the transmission. The motor still runs the same as before, like crap.
