Focus ST3 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 93,500 miles

Went to start my car one day, and the clutch pedal stayed on the floor when I stepped on it. I tried flushing the clutch fluid and it worked. 48 hours later, the clutch pedal got stuck to the floor again. I took it to a mechanic and it turned out the the clutch slave cylinder went out and was allowing clutch/brake fluid to get inside of the transmission before leaking to the floor. Mechanic recommended replacing the clutch since they would have to open the transmission anyway. The problem appears to be due to Ford using a cheap plastic slave cylinder for the clutch.

transmisson clutch w/ housing 12 wk back order,,4800 needed

Brought car new only had 5 miles on it also brought 3850 dollars worth of warranty, was curious why ford kept on sending me letters on extending warranty, seems to me when someone buys new car should not need such a warrenty its NEW but found out why this car has 56 TSB,s on it and aftert warrenty of 7500 miles passed car hasnt been right since seems to me FORD MAKES CARS TO ONLY BE DRIVEN A SHORT TIME THEN YOU NEED TO PASS YOUR TROUBLES ON TO SOME OTHER POOR SOUL. BOTTOM LINE IF I,M EVER ASK MY

ADVICE WOULD BE TO BE A CHEVY,DODGE,HONDA, OR BETTER YET A BICYLE, ANYTHING BUT A FORD TRANSMISSON BEEN JUMPY SINCE I TEST DROVE IT, SALESMAN TOLD ME THATS JUST THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE .THIS CAR HAS 6 TSB ON TRANSMISSON ALONE

AFTER LEAVING MY 20 YEAR OLD FRIENDS FUNERAL, MY CAR DECIDED AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP 2 WEEKS AGO TO GET A NEW CLUTCH PUT IN, THAT IT WOULD THEN START SLIPPING, SHUTTERING AND GO OUT. AFTER 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!! SO AGGRAVATED. I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FEEL UNSAFE IN A VEHICLE DUE TO FORD NOT CARING ABOUT YOUR FAMILY JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT THEIRS!!!! THEN REPLACE THE CLUTCH WHEN IT WAS REPLACED 2 WEEKS AGO WITH A NEW ONE.

Focus SE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

My car started to shake a little when I had it at lower speeds. Like it was struggling to switch gears. I asked Ford to look over the problem and they said the car just needed to "Break in". So I took their word for it and went on my way. Then the problem got worse. My car went from a subtle shake to jerking every time I would start to accelerate or in slower speeds. I took it in and they said the clutch was out. They replaced it with the warranty.
