The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While driving approximately 5 mph, there was an abnormal odor from the front of the vehicle and the power seized without warning. The vehicle restarted after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (dave sinclair Lincoln St. Peters, 4760 N service rd, St. Peters, mo 63376) where it was diagnosed that the clutch was burned. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that NHTSA issued and expanded recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
