Air bag on dash board is on. My gears won't switch how they used to. It takes a very long time for me to get the gear on drive mode. Stepping on the gas break to move gear, it also doesn't help.

Driving West on the Pennsylvania turnpike coming from the jersey shore doing 74 miles per hour in the left lane when suddenly. I feel a shift in my car and my speedometer starts dropping, my foot is on the gas pedal and it's not making a difference. 3 kids in the backseat are asleep thankfully. As that happens a wrench light appears on my instrument panel. I now have zero acceleration power on a major highway and need to get over 3 lanes to the shoulder. I put my hazards on and drift over with a pounding heart that I am my kids are about to die. Luckily I was fortunate to make it to the shoulder. Now I'm in a situation where I am on the shoulder of a highway with kids in the car and not a clue in the world of what's wrong with my vehicle. I look at my manual to see what the wrench light indicator means and it says throttle control / transmission contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.it's a Sunday can't do that. I am able to get someone to pick us up off of the turnpike with 3 little kids and get it towed. The Ford dealership told me that I need a new throttle body. I am not sure how this is not a safety recall issue, the only thing I can think of is that me and my kids did not die. I'm assuming that is the only way something line this is taken seriously. Please put yourself in my situation with your kids in the back on a major highway and tell me how you would feel? this really needs a serious and quick looking into.

Electronic throttle body malfunction while driving on highway at 70mph (speed limit), using cruise control. All acceleration control stopped working. Had to maneuver across highway, through active traffic, to shoulder to turn off the car. Waited for a few minutes and successfully restarted. Got home and had to take the car to the mechanic the next day because it wouldn't accelerate past 40mph.

I was going on a trip to visit family and Missouri from wi and my 2007 Ford Fusion lost all power. The wrench light came on and check engine light came on. I had the codes read and stated that it was a throttle body issue. Any time I use the curse control on long trips this happens.

Our Ford Fusion suddenly lost power and starting acting in an unpredictable fashion, while traveling on rte 95 North in the passing lane. We narrowly avoided a rear end collision with the vehicle behind us, as well as other vehicles as we worked to get over to the safety of the breakdown lane. An orange wrench light was in an "on" state and the car was running very rough. After checking all gauges and fluids, I restarted the car and found it to be in a normal state again, with no wrench light visible. We turned around and headed home. This condition occurred one more time about 45 miles later, just a few miles from our home, same result. I researched the issue and found that the NHTSA is aware of this problem and has been asked to fix over 1 million cars exhibiting the same issue. I contacted Ford, as recommended in a report I discovered online. Their response was that, while they were aware of the issue and the problems it causes, our 2007 Fusion was not covered and we are responsible for the repairs. This issue just occurred today, therefore I have no documentation, other than what is available on many websites and blogs, documented by other Ford owners, complaining of the same issue. Am I to understand that of the million plus cars having this problem, some will be corrected, while for some reason that Ford could not explain, some are not?

Passenger side airbag is bulging up on one side. I park in a garage and I'm in wi so we don't get extreme heat, so I'm not sure why I'm having a issue. It's either an airbag issue or a dashboard issue. My passenger side airbag light appears to be working fine...it only goes on with a passenger or when my purse gets too heavy and its on the seat. Also, my accelerator petal makes a weird static-sounding noise when it's at a certain position. It has nothing to do with speed, it happens at various speeds, so it's only when the petal is held in the same spot which is about halfway down to the floor. If I press the petal down beyond this spot or raise my foot so the petal is above that spot, the noise stops...only to return again when the petal eventually lands back in that problematic spot (about halfway down).

Driving along a four lane highway at approximately 60mph when suddenly the vehicle stopped accelerating, I had to put it in neutral, letting it coast, turn the engine off and quickly back on. It allowed me to continue normally after that. However this problem has been occurring intermittently ever since. When it gets really bad, it will repeat the problem anywhere from 5-10 minutes after I turn it and back on and the traction control and maintenance lights will come on. After awhile the check engine light will come and stay on for a couple of days. Had a diagnostics run on it while the check engine light was on and it indicated that the throttle control system was malfunctioning. Ford wants over $600 for parts and labor to fix the problem which I think is ridiculous considering how many others are having the same problem. Will be contacting the regional sales manager regarding this.

Lost power while trying to pass a car had no throttle and almost had a head on collision got got home had a air injection code P0491 in the system. Found a bad air injection pump loaded with water replaced the air pump and the problem is solved I see Ford has a lot of issues with water getting into these pumps but refuses to do anything about it.contacted Ford with no response. I worked in Ford dealerships for over 25 years so I know how to diagnose these problems. I am not concerned about the money for fixing this problem I just feel the issue should be corrected before someone gets hurt or killed.
