Fusion SEL 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,836 miles

I bought this car for my wife back in October or November of 2010. We have had this Ford Fusion in and out of the Ford service department where we bought the car at least 4 times with the promise each time of it being repaired. Earlier, it would be the front windows that would open randomly and the sun roof would go up whenever we would open the door getting in or getting out of the car. This last time they claimed to have deactivated the Global Window Opening and promised it would never take place again. Now, these things happen even after we have parked the car and gone in a store only to return and find the windows down and the sunroof up.

I now wonder if FORD does not mean Forever in the Repair Department!

Fusion Sport 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,035 miles

Bought a new 2011 Ford Fusion Sport this past Summer. Took it to the Ford dealership because of the windows and sunroof would open up unexpectedly when the vehicle is not running or unattended. The dealership said if the problem does not occur when they are present or if a code isn't showing up as an error message then they said they cannot do anything. This has happened at least 5 times since we bought the car new this past Summer. Fortunately for us the car hasn't been broken into or we haven't had a case of bad weather but now its January. Who wants to live in fear of not knowing if your car is secured enough when you go to get into it that someone could be actually hiding in the back seat or your possessions could be wide open for someone to easily take or case of bad weather damaging the inside and the price on this car is $30,000 +???. Now since I have discovered other complaints that are similiar to mine I will be addressing it to the dealership.

Fusion V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,900 miles

I bought this car new in July 2011. Parked car on the evening of 18 Aug 2011with all windows and sunroof CLOSED. Discovered front windows and sunroof OPEN on 19 Aug 2011! We had heavy rain and lightning on the night of 18/19 Aug 2011. Interior was soaked (not good on the leather) and water was standing in the cup holders and floorboard wells!!!! At this time I do not know what damage, if any, was done to the electronics (sound system, instrumentation and sync system). When I checked the doors were LOCKED so no one just strolled by and opened the windows as they, as well as the sunroof, can only be activated from inside the vehicle.

Can anyone say manufacturer defect?

Fusion

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Car was 200 miles away from me and had items locked in car and they were taken. Ford dealership service mgr was very rude and said it was my problem. Had a ford tarus and it did the same thing. Ford spent almost one whole day reprogramming the car. Ford admitted that the tarus had a problem but seem ignorant about a problem with the fusion. This is a serious problem when you can't secure your car from thieves or weather.
