Fusion SEL 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,100 miles

I purchased a brand new 2012 Ford Fusion V6 3.0L, on January 7th 2012. In the first 30 days, My engine starts ticking once it warms up, the radiator fan squeels when you turn off the engine and the back passenger window would take a long time to roll back up. I took it into the local Ford dealership and they told me I needed a new radiator fan, a new motor for the power window and that the factory installed the wrong lifters in my engine and they would need to replace them. (They called Ford Technical Advisors) I was a little concerned with the assessment but told them to go ahead and fix the issues. The gave me a courtesy rental for the day since they had to order parts. The next day I received a call from the service advisor telling me that after they installed the new lifters and ran a diagnostics test on the engine that it failed and they also noticed metal shavings in the oil pan and that I needed a new engine! He also informed me to bring back the rental car since Ford warranty doesn't cover the rental. I returned the vehicle that night after getting off of work and noticed my car out in the parking lot. I decided to get my personal belongings out of the car and noticed that my brand new car smelled like gas and oil! Since this all happened on a Friday evening I could not call Ford Corporate until today. This is where the fun begins! Ford agreed to replace the engine and perform a detailed cleaning but they wanted to use my extended service contract to pay for the rental car!!! WTF? I have never been so dissappointed with a company until after this incident.

I'm wondering how many other engines are out there with the wrong lifters installed?

Fusion

  • Automatic transmission
  • 900 miles

This is the worst experience I have after buying so many new cars in my life. I would say this is the last time I would buy a Ford again, and I would let my friends and folks on the Internet know. I bought a brand new 2012 Ford Fusion, and noticed a knocking noise from the motor, after about 400 miles. I sent it to the dealer at 900 miles and they told me it was a defect in the motor, a missing cam seat (one of 4). The whole motor was replaced, after the car stayed in the dealer's shop for about 2 weeks. Then after I received the car, I noticed that the radiator fan remains on all the time when the car warms up. Now the dealer is telling me that they believe the problem is coming from the cylinder head. It was so awful to hear it, after they replaced the motor that there is something else wrong with it. I am about to have it with Ford and feel so bad for buying a Ford.
