On 6-14-15 had just turned into a road when instrument panel rung and showed service advancetrac and service power steering. Was trying to get to a safe spot to park and it immediately rung and said service power steering now. The power steering went out and was impossible to drive. The car was towed to Ford dealership where they said the steering gear was to be replaced and Ford covered everything due to the recall. On 7-7-14 3 weeks and only 597 miles later the same problem happened, towed vehicle to Ford dealership where they said its showing the same codes as before but now the control arm bushings are needing replaced and it will cost $1,200 to fix and Ford is not covering anything. Cannot afford to have this fixed and shouldn't have to. This really needs to be checked into. I have read several of the complaints and it seems that there is a whole lot needs to be included in this recall than is. Too many people with the same problem. Sure hope no one gets hurt or killed for this to happen.

While traveling home on the interstate with my spouse and child, the car warning system suddenly flashed "power steering failure" and "auto traction failure" and I lost power steering in the vehicle. In this frightening moment, the car was difficult to drive as we slowed to a safe speed and returned to our home. On October 1, 2014 my wife attempted to drive the car but was physically unable to back the vehicle out of the drive as the power steering failed. I contacted our dealer and was told that it could be a very expensive part (the rack) costing $1800 as another Fusion was at the dealership at that time with 73,000 miles having that part replace. I was astounded. On October 2nd, I carefully with great difficulty navigated the car to the dealership, here it was determined that the power steering rack would have to be replaced. In conversation with the service manager I was informed that I had done nothing wrong and that there was no preventative maintenance that could have been performed, but that the part simply failed. It is my contention that the part was not made properly and that it is a safety hazard. I have called Ford twice on 10/02 and 10/10 and have received absolutely no help or satisfaction. I have called the Ford dealership and have not received satisfaction to this point. This is a dangerous situation with a defective part that Ford has produced, but is unwilling to replace. I respectfully request that the NHTSA intervene immediately and issue a recall for this dangerous situation before life is lost.

Was leaving the mall with my son and mother. Got into my car started the engine and right away the alert came on stating service advance trac system and power steering fault indicator came on..... my steering wheel was completely stiff... made it very difficult to make a turn... first thing this morning I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership apprx 3 miles from my home..and was told the repair cost was apprx 1500.00.... I came home and right away began review all the forums showing many Ford owners experiencing this issues.... I don't understand how Ford hasn't taken action.... this should be recalled asap.... the danger of this resulting into an auto accident is very high....

There have been four incidents with the car: Battery had to be replaced in less than a year car shut off on the interstate in 60 miles per hour traffic taken in June 2014 for a recall *last incident, car is 2 years old with 44,000 miles, front end failure; parts needed to repair include lower control arm and tie rod ends at a cost of approximately $1500 I've called Ford to report the latest incident and have not had anyone to call me back to discuss the car's malfunctions. From the customer service department to their manager, all I have received is a promise that I would hear from someone within 24 hours of the next business day. This run around has gone on for the past week.

Hail damage, paintless dent repair, could be reason for unexplained tire tread wear, and/or knocking sound when backing up and turning. My Fusion is still under warranty. Please advise with any information that may be helpful.

Noticed a noise in right front quadrant while slowly driving through local parking lot. Noise appeared have a "rotating' component. Suspected a cv joint failure. Dealer determined a failure in lower ball joint. Design requires replacement of lower control arm assembly. Recommended replacing both lower control arms. Cost to me is $750. Dealer rep's stated that failure is the result of absence of grease fittings in suspension assemblies. Oem replacements may not have grease fittings either.

I was making a left turn on a dirt road when the power steering went out and my steering wheel jerked the opposite direction and I went off the side of the road and did damage to my fender. I took it to the Ford dealer that I purchased it from for warranty fix and to fix my fender and they denied my work and wouldn't fix the power steering even though the code po7ae and U0415 clearly came up. This is a huge safety issue and Ford needs to take responsibility.
