A month ago I put my 2016 Ford Fusion into Rusty Eck Ford, Wichita, KS for a 100,000 checkup. $3,000 later and 4 days I got my car back. Then less than 2 weeks after getting it back my engine light comes on. I brought to Rusty Eck and they said don't worry unless it starts to blink. Brought it in Friday with the blinking engine light. Now they say it is a KNOWN problem and I need a new engine. $#k for a 100,000 check and now they couldn't find the problem before needing a new engine? Something just doesn't smell right with this at all!

2016 Ford Fusion Titanium - Purchased my car in April 2016 with 13,000 miles (was an Enterprise rental I was told). Car began hesitating about a week ago - thought I had purchased some bad gas. This never changed. Today, the check engine light came on and my car began making a loud revving noise while I was driving then the noise stopped. I drove directly to the dealership. Now I'm waiting on the diagnosis. This should not be happening to a car that I take good care of and have only had for 1 1/2 years!

The car has stalled out again on 7/28/2017 slows down & doesn't accelerate with the picture of the wrench light coming on. This is awful, annoying,& extremely dangerous. Now, I am told this will take a day to fix . Ford Motor Company should recall this vehicle off of the road. Life is precious & knowing this could lead to loss of life is absurd. The complaints on this are plenty & asburd. I do not want to keep an unsafe vehicle.Ford Motor Company shame on you!!! I was on the Freeway when this car slowed down & wouldn't pick up speed. I was able to pull off on the shoulder & turn the car off & start 3 times before I was able to drive the car off of the very exit & take the street with the car slowing down again & having to turn down a side street to turn the car off & on again for the engine light to come on & drive the car home to park in the drive way.

I was coming home from work and all of a sudden the car started stalling as I was slowing down approaching a red light. The car was bucking and the car would not accelerate. The maintenance wrench came up on the digital display which means a powertrain/drivetrain issue. Luckily I was able to pull off the road and turn the car off. I restarted the car and it the wrench symbol went off and the car seemed to be running alright. I started my drive home again and about 2 miles down the road it did it again approaching another red light. At this point, I turned the car off and called Ford roadside assistance and had it towed to my local Ford Dealer where I purchased the car. The dealership kept the car over a week and could not duplicate the problem but I was told that they have had some issue with the throttle body. If Ford knows this is a problem then they need to fix it. This could be a serious issue if the car stalls on an interstate or major highway. The car did not have any codes in the computer....why and how the wrench symbol can come on twice and NOT be recorded in the car computer is ridiculous.

Update from Aug 5, 2016: Drove the car 2 days and it left me stranded AGAIN today. This time it started stalling at 60 MPH. Luckily I was near an exit. Someone is going to die from this. This is a serious issue and this should be a recall.

Update from Aug 8, 2016: The dealership called today and said they replaced the throttle body. I will let everyone know if this fixes the problem. To say I am disappointed in the Ford Motor Company is an understatement. This is a SERIOUS issue that Ford needs to correct ASAP. If someone was to die from this the family should sue Ford for everything they can....stop being CHEAP Ford and FIX the problem!!!!!

engine shakes and almost dies when A/C is working hard

When it is hot outside, like 95 degrees or more, engine shakes and almost shuts off while you are stuck in traffic and the AC is set to be on LOW. Ford Service employees said it is normal and said they cannot do anything.

Rented this 2016 Ford Fusion from Alamo in Denver. Was near Mt Rushmore (Needles Highway) when car lost power, similar to several other complaints I read on this site. Wrench symbol on dash came on and I drifted into a camp ground. Car idled very rough for 45 mins (I left running for A/C). Finally it quit and when I restarted it fired up like normal and wrench light went out. No way was I going to continue driving and risk another potential serious accident or worse. Since it was a rental no way to tell what issue was or how it was resolved. I've read where Ford's with EcoBoost had issues like this but don't know if this is even related cause I didn't know what this car had in it. I was getting 33mpg so pretty sure it was a 4 cyl. On a side note, Alamo (owned by Enterprise Holdings) road side assistance was horrible.

I purchased this 2016 new in 2015. I noticed some stalling and was told that's just how car shifts soon after purchase but nothing was wrong. Ok I accept that. Come 3-21-16 as I drove less than 1 mile from house while driving...wrench and check engine light comes on. Pull over and call service at dealership. The tell me to crank again, wrench now gone but check engine light still on. They schedule appointment for couple days later which I'm concerned about. Service person says ok to drive since not flashing. Take it in on appointment. They check it and says nothing is wrong. Yet the vehicle health report says "Engine, Transmission, Emission - Urgent Service Required." The give car back with check engine light off and say bring it back if check engine light comes on with a red dot or comes on and continuously blink. The car continues to sometimes stall when pressing on gas periodically or when taking off from stop but no warnings for a while. Still service says no issues if no warnings come on. Ok...but more issues to come.

I was on my way back to work from lunch and lo and behold my 2016 FORD FUSION lost power and started jerking. My dashboard lit up with the wrench symbol and check engine light. I was in the far left lane so I had to coast the car all the way to the right lane to pull over. Thank God there was not much traffic, but what if I was on the highway I would not be writing this I might be dead I am very upset because the dealership told me I have to get a rental, they don't have loaner cars and I had to have a deposit. I went ballistic! Why in the world do I have to spend extra when I have a warranty? To top it off, I had to wait three hours for road side service from Ford. I should have called my AAA. I am so damn disappointed with FORD!!!! FORD NEEDS TO DO BETTER!!!!

Wrench light would come on and car would jerk and chug, lose acceleration (went into limp mode). Started out once just one day then 2 days later I couldn't even go 100 yards. Check engine light then came on. Had to have it towed. Needed the throttle body replaced.

I was driving home from work downtown traffic and at 5pm when all the state employees get out.. you can only imagine the traffic.. Well I was about 10 miles from home and my car starts shaking and the check engine light and wrench light came on.. I couldn't gas my car, it kept shaking really bad. I was stuck in the middle of the freeway exit unable to move my car, so I turned it off waited a few minutes and turned on back on.. This happened 2 more times on my way home, I scheduled app with ford to get it checked.. seems like its the throttle. THEY SHOULD DO A RECALL I'M NOT THE FIRST TO DEAL WITH THIS.. This can cause a big injury or worse loss of a life and that will cost Ford more $$ with the lawsuit.

I love Ford but this is crazy ..after talking to the dealership Ford knows there is a problem with their throttle bodies, I just don't understand why they have not already taken care of the problem so their customers are not sitting on the side of the road in a brand new car.

On (3) separate occasions now my car has stalled out while driving and given me the "wrench" check owners manual alert on the display. As I do all I can to get out of the line of traffic and off the the side of the road, the car sputters, shakes and stalls out. Turn off the key, wait a few seconds, open and close the door (so all electronics are off) and sometimes the check engine light comes on when it starts and it runs fine. Some times, it starts and shakes and sputters and stalls. On all occasions, I have eventually been able to get it to "Limp" home. The last time (3rd time) I called ford roadside assistance and had it towed to the dealer. The shop told me this is the 5th or 6th 2016 Ford car (Fusion, Fiesta or Focus) this month with the same issue. 2nd Fusion and the one prior to mine had 400 miles on it! Thinks it's either the throttle body or the throttle body positioning sensor. Has thrown codes P2111 and P2112. (one means flap is open, one means flap is closed) It's been 3 days and i haven't heard back and no indication on when it will be fixed. (this is not the shop's fault in my opinion as they have been nothing but nice and considerate to me) Don't know what the deal is but someone is going to get seriously hurt. My wife has the same car but a 2015. I'm nervous that her's will start doing the same thing because she lugs the kids around everywhere. C'mon Ford, you are messing with peoples lives here. Just own up to it and fix it immediately before someone pays the ultimate price.

Update from Jun 27, 2016: Update.... 6/24/2016 Vehicle repair completed. Ford Installed new re-designed throttle body and positioning sensor. Seems to be working fine now.

only had the vehicle for 7 months and it started bucking and shaking while idling at stop lights, then the check engine light came on. took it to Ford service, who still has the vehicle, trying to get a new "throttle body" which is a defective part on a lot of Ford vehicles from what I now find out! I had to rent a car on my own dollar (Ford will reimburse me later???) and they have no idea when the part will become available! definitely a pain, thank God I wasn't injured !
