Fusion Hybrid SE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Like the other complaints before mine, the wipers are too slow in moderate to heavy rain. You literally cannot drive and have to pullover for the rain to pass or slow down. It's ridiculous that a vehicle produced in 2015(2014) has such a major problem for a basic consumer necessity. This could kill people.

Wipers do not clear Moderate Rainfall fast enough. Heavy rain fall is a nightmare. You must slow down to 30 miles an hour on the highway to feel safe in moderate to heavy rainfall and even then the wipers are not fast enough. All you can do is pray that no one decides to jump in front of you between wiper clearing the rain.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration @ www.NHTSA.gov does not have enough complaints about this issue for Ford to do anything about it. I just registered a complaint with them after 7 wipers too slow incidences for the last 8 months. The ODI# (Office Defects Investigation) is 10863582

When contacting Ford Customer complaint department they are noncommittal and recommend slowing down to make the wipers go faster. My response: Even driving at 25 MPH on the highway is not fast enough to clear heavy rain in time to see if someone is going to jump in front of you unexpectedly. All you can do is pray it stops raining and you don't have a heart attack from the stress of having to drive with these wipers!

I love the way this car drives and it gets the mileage stated. I just pray that someone does not have to get into a horrible accident for this to be fixed.

Please join me in reporting all incidents to the NHTSA.gov website. We can make a difference!!!

Searching the Internet I have found many with the exact same issue. Use the NHTSA.gov website! rant over
