Intake manifold in my Ford Taurus 2000 sel exploded.vehicle: Fafp56S2yg125733. I had this happen to me yesterday with my 2000 Ford Taurus SE. It has 25,000 miles on it. I had taken it to the dealership for some service last week (30th Dec) and then had this happen yesterday when I started the car in my garage. We had been driving the car in the meanwhile. I don?T think it is related to the service (they did an oil change and replaced the air filter in addition to other things unrelated to the engine). There was a loud noise immediately after I started the car. It was scary enough that I was ducking behind the steering wheel with my hands covering my head. I thought something had fallen on the car from the garage shelves. Then I saw smoke coming from under the hood. I popped up the hood and found that the intake manifold had blown open completely. I called up Ford to see if there were any reported cases of this and was told that there was none. I got the car towed to the dealership and they are looking into it as I write this. I have pictures of the manifold and I have asked the dealership not to start any work before they inform me in a written report what the problem is. I have already found 3 other cases of this on the internet, 2 of which are 2000 Taurus and Sable and other one a Mazda with the same engine as mine. I think two of them have already filed a complaint with your office. I would like to know how this problem will be addressed.

While traveling under 40 mph and applying or tapping brakes, and then reapplying accelerator, engine will begin to rumble and cause vibration in vehicle for a couple seconds, and then shutdown. Engine check light will come on. This also occurred while vehicle was idling. Consumer sometimes wasable to restart vehicle after this event occurred, ,while other times he was forced to have vehicle towed. Dealership has examined vehicle, and worked on fuel pump on two occasions, and fuel delivery module replaced by a manufacturer's recall. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

Fuel lines are rubbing against shock tower which can cause fuel leak. Hose is now showing marking, but eventually will wear. Also, power steering hose is rubbing against air conditioner.
