I have owned my car for nearly 5 years now. It runs like a charm, and I get great mileage (28mpg around town 35-38 on the highway). In Ocotber of 2012 I started having a problem fueling the car. It would start filling and within a few seconds the pump would shut off, I would wiggle the nozel around and pull the lever again and it would start up again. This would go on for about five minuetes until it finally filled the tank. I took it to our local garage ( a family run operation that I have been going to for the past 25years and always got great service on my vehicles , and still do)He tried everything from the filter, to the fill pipe, to a new gas tank. He even contacted Ford with this continuing problem. They made some suggestions in regards to removing the tank, then the fuel pump and replacing the filter inside to the pump (nearly a $300.00 bill). This worked for about two or three fill ups and then it started again. The next step was replace the fill pipe and tank which lasted about 5 or 6 fill ups and then it was back to cutting in and out on the fill up. My mechanic can not supply any further assistance even with calling Ford.

Do you have any suggestions ??????

It is not affecting the operarion of the vehicle, it starts everytime even when it was -30'F or 30'F above, runs great and rides well. Besides this "Pain in the Ass" situation I have not had a major repair on it, just normal maintenance.
