problem #2

Nov 012016

Taurus SES 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

I just fixed the car and then the car is linking fuel from the gas tank. The Taurus has been one BIG lemon.

Update from Dec 8, 2016: The fuel pump was fixed, since it was leaking. It cost me $436.12. The mechanic extended me credit to ensure I would not die in one BIG fire ball.

I had a gas smell for a long time. No visible leak. Took to a local mechanic and he found the problem. What aggravates me is Ford says because I didn't take it to a dealership they won't help me with the costs. They put a crappy plastic part in one over their vehicles and won't help out unless the dealership does the work. The dealership here told me they couldn't tell me how much it would cost to find the leak and to put it on a machine it would be a minimum of $110.00 and would probably go up from there, but they couldn't tell me how high. I even offered to send them the cracked parts. No more Fords for me.
