I had all the rear tail light assembly's replaced under warranty through a period of 18 months. Even the ones that were replaced had to be replaced! Finally the dealer had me contact Ford customer service. What a joke! They wanted to charge me about $350 per rear assembly and they couldn't even guarantee me they wouldn't do the same thing! I'm still researching for solution to problem.

I bought my Ford new off the showroom floor. Both rear tail light housing needed to be replaced at that time because of the chrome pealing off. It was taken care of and then had it done two more times. Now 4 and 5 years later, Ford won't do anything about it. We have the extended warranty but it's not covered. We have always been a Ford family, trucks , T-bird. After this, never again, no one will even talk to you about it. I learned a good lesson at the age of 68!!! It was a problem when I bought the car and 5 years later it is still a problem and Ford doesn't give a damn....

I had the delamination of the fake chrome around the tail lamps twice. I first reported the issue to the dealer Sep-2012. Lamps were replaced under warranty. This year, the problem occurred again (on the lamps replaced in Sep-2014). I contact the dealer. They did nothing. I contacted "customer care"....they did nothing. Both said that they would take care of the issue and contact the other. After repeated calls, the dealership finally contacted "customer care". They decided that Ford would take no action. The problem is widely known, still no action. This is not a wearable item, nor is this a new claim for the tail lamps. The tail lamps should be replaced, under warranty or recall. I don't care if they had a "bad supplier" that is now taken care of. How did these lamps past environmental testing? Why does this company not stand behind their product?

Noticed chrome trim around tail lights peeling again after having same replaced earlier. This is definitely a manufacturing defect.

This happened of course right after the warranty. I paid around $25000.00 for this car and the chrome is peeling off the taillights. It is a beautiful car being ruined by the ugly chrome. Ford says the parts are $600.00 and I have to buy new ones.

What I'm hearing is a lot of complaints about the same problem and if I replace them they will just peel again. This part needs to be recalled. I will be calling the better business bureau.

The inner tail-light had the chrome peeling off of them. Again, the dealer took pictures, and ordered and replaced the inner tail-light assemblies no questions asked.

Ford has told the dealer the issue was due to a supplier with which they no longer use. All recent replacements should no longer have this issue due to the use of a new supplier. The outer lenses replaced over a year ago are fine and I'm hopeful this issue won't return once past the 3/36 warranty.

I have the extended Ford warranty as well, but that doesn't cover trim. Ford customer service said that my request for assistance has been denied, and flat-out told me that there is nothing that they will do for me, including offering any sort of discount if I pay for the replacement parts.

This is a well-known issue, but both the dealership and Ford customer service deny having any knowledge of it. $45k car and the chrome trim peels off! It looks absolutely awful, and sticks out like a sore thumb!

THE ONLY THING THIS CAR DOESN'T HAVE IS A HOT TUB. ITS GREAT! FABULOUS! LOOKS GREAT! RUNS GREAT! WHY WOULD THEY PUT FAKE CHROME AROUND THE TAIL LIGHTS OF SUCH A LUXURIOUS CAR? WHY HAVEN'T THEY HAD THEIR SUPPLIER RECALL THEM ALL AND FIX IT? THEY ARE ALL LIKE THIS......SUCH A CRYING SHAME.

I had all the tail lights replaced once due to the chrome trim peeling off. 3 months later they are doing it again and getting replaced. I am close to the regular manufactures warranty expiring. If they continue to do this every few months something needs to be done by Ford.
