First issue: When trying to start my car it would turn over about 60 seconds and the inside would turn on such as dash but engine would not start. Stationary second issue: Today 7/22/19 while driving down the interstate my car just shut itself off as if not getting any fuel, could have caused a major accident thankfully it wasnt rush hour. In motion beaumont tx - they said my car did not fall under the recall but its doing the same thing as what the recall states.

I was driving and all of a sudden the car just dropped down to about 10 miles per hour. It wouldn't accelerate even when I pushed the pedal to the floor so I just went back to my job to park before I got to the main road where the rush hour traffic was.

Sometime in March 2019 my car didnt want to start.it had been parked over night at my house. I tried to start it and it just kept turning over but no start. I called the dealership and they had it towed to the dealer. I was advised that it was the battery. I was charged about $185 to buy another battery. The car was working fine until May 2, 2019 it was parked at my place of employment and had to leave it there over night and have it towed the next morning to the dealership. The wanted to charge me $400 to get it replaced. My arguement is I could of saved $185 on a battery that didnt need replacing and 2 months later they wanted me to ditch out more money. I had to arguement with them for several hours. Till the manager said that they will take care of the cost. But it shouldnt had lead to that. I know several Ford Taurus have been recalled but not my VIN number. I dont understand why when they are all Ford Taurus 2014 and they are having the same problem. I wouldnt of spend $185 on money I dont have to spend.

I attempted to start my vehicle in my garage. Motor would crank but not start. I knew it was a fuel issue, so I googled the problem. I came across an issue with the fuel pump relay on 2013-2015 Taurus, flex, and inteceptors. Mostly related to law enforcement vehicles and civilian super charged engines that had a recall for this fuel pump relay modular. My Taurus is only a sel, and I saw where many other people were having the same issue with their everyday 2013-2015 Ford vehicle. These people replaced their own fuel pump relay module and fixed their problem. I decided to try it myself. Sure enough; I, a single mom on a very fixed income, gets a ride to my local auto parts store, buys the fuel pump relay module for $75, install the part myself, and it worked like a charm! there needs to be a recall on all of these 2013-2015 Ford Taurus's so people like myself and the other few I came across online can get our money back, and prevent others from having to go through the panic of having only one vehicle (that should be very dependable) that won't start. I called Ford and they told me they would not issue any recall, the recall had to come from NHTSA. I am truly hoping that someone at the NHTSA will address this issue asap.

It has done this at least 5 times. Another Ford dealership put a fuel pump relay switch on and it did it again.when it does this it is parked.

The vehicle will sometimes crank but will not start. It happens more often on hot days and when parked with the passenger side towards the sun. The local dealer is unable to diagnose the problem. I left the car with the dealer from 6/8/2018-6/20/2018 and the car only failed to start one time and they were unable to find the reason. Since picking the car up it has failed to start three times. I checked online and found that there is an issue with the fuel pump relay. I pulled the relay from our car and it is the same one that has a recall except ours is on a Taurus limited not the sho. I recommend recalling all vehicles with the same fuel pump relay regardless of model/trim. I have attached a photo of our car's fuel pump relay.

This vehicle stalls while in motion on both city streets and on highways. At times it will not run at all. I learned that certain 2014 Ford Taurus models have been recalled for this same problem. I had it repaired in October 2017, at the local Ford dealer and the fuel pump module was replaced. Presently the same problem has re-occurred.

Taurus

  • 77,500 miles
Fuel pump control module failed causing engine to stall and not able to be restarted. Fortunately at the time I was at the side of the road idling, however I was 5 minutes away from getting on the highway. Parked car, and purchased replacement fuel module from Ford dealer and able to get car running again. Ford has issued recall 16S31, however my '14 Taurus with a naturally aspirated 3.5L is not included in that recall. Part number of the module is aa8A-9D412-ca and supplier code doesn't appear to be one of the stated suppliers that is ok to use. Supplier code appears to be -oc. See attached photo and compare to information supplied in recall 16S31. Replacement part is P/N aa8Z-9D370-B. dealer cost with tax for the part was approx. $70

I drove my car just fine on Sunday. When I got in the car to go to work Monday morning, the engine would crank, but it wouldn't start. So I called my mechanic who came over with a machine. They found that fuel was not getting to the engine although I had half a tank of gas. There is no kill switch on my model car, for them to reset thinking I had hit a bump and somehow set off the theft feature that kills fuel to the engine when my car thinks it being stolen(?). they were able to bypass something to get the car to crank which determined the fuel pump was in working order. They were looking for the fuel pump control module when we found the NHTSA #16V621000, which shows the 2013-2015 Ford Taurus models (which I have), "a component within the fuel pump electric module (pem) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump. I recall recently that while I was driving one day I could smell something burning, an electrical wiring smell, but since my car still ran didn't think anything about it. When you type in my VIN, this recall does not show up, but when you enter the year, make and model it does show up. I strongly urge the proper people at Ford to look into this. I thank jesus that my vehicle didn't stall while driving.
