Transit Ecoboost V/T 250

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,500 miles

I complained shortly after purchasing van of rear brake whining when backing up within the first couple of thousand miles. after taking in for another warranty issue the service manager actually heard noise. but said wen i bring it in for first oil change they would fix issue at same time. I brought in at 7000 miles for oil change and they never addressed issue at all. Around 8000 miles I started to hear an knocking sound when I would make a turn. Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick. I didn't think much of it until it started happening more frequently.

The tipping point happened in June of 2018 I was making a left turn and the ticking started followed by drop in RPM and engine light came on. coasted to side of road and when i got momentum i went on y way slowly to my destination. After turning off vehicle for about an hour it started up again with no light and no knocking. Took it into dealer right away. On July 1 I took in to dealer for repairs. They replaced knock sensors but again never addressed rear end. After spending 7 days in shop with only 9,995 miles on vehicle I got it back to have the ticking sound all over again, not only when turning, but also when going uphill.

I took it back to Tuttle Click Ford in Irvine, CA on August 28, 2018 and sat at dealer till the 4th of September and was never even touched.not even the oil change that was on the work order. So now I have a new van that is having rear whining when going in reverse and sporadic engine knocking when driving. What does the dealer tell me? manager tells me that he is not going to waste his technicians time and parts trying to figure out what is wrong with the van. OMG are you kidding me.

I immediately filed a claim for California Lemon Law with Ford motor company. This dealer is really a piece of work. Issues have not been fixed on this vehicle other things they had to replace were warped rear bumper at 2500 miles and drive shaft under recall at 9500 miles along with battery that was not holding a charge. This vehicle is for my primary source of income, and when its is down I lose 300.00 per day minimum. Shame on Ford. Either get me a new replacement or give me my money back.
