Acadia

  • 20,000 miles
The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph when the middle row seat began to fracture from the base. The contact was able to reattach the seat to its base. An occupied child restraint system was secured to the middle row by the latch system during the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was advised that the child restraint system was the cause of the failure and that she should purchase a different model. The contact purchased a new child restraint however the failure persisted intermittently and only when the child restraint was secured to the seat. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer numerous times where they were unable to diagnose the failure. There were no repairs. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 30,000.

Acadia 6-cyl

  • 5,000 miles
The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the middle bench (60/40 split) had an issue where the 60 part would constantly "pop" up towards the driver seat. The issue was noticed every-time someone sat in the vehicle. A 164-lb man was sitting in the seat and was lifted while the vehicle was in motion. She had to sit her child seat on the 40 part to avoid injury of her child. She took the vehicle to two different dealerships a total of seven times. The dealership could never find anything wrong with the vehicle that would indicate a cause for the failure. The manufacturer told her to take the vehicle to another dealer which she had an appointment set for 11/06/09. The current mileage was approximately 29,000. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. Updated 11/17/09 updated 11/1/8/09
