When I purchased the vehicle in less than an hour the check engine light, airbag light, tire pressure sensor popped on. The car would have a slow take off and shake as you accelerate on the city street. When I drive the freeway the car will hesitate and take 15 seconds before it switch gears to catch up to speed and jerk. The service airbag, service tire monitor system, service stabilitrak, service traction control alert messages are on the message console.

I purchased this vehicle used about 4 months ago. On 8-15-19, I activated the on star and was told about a recall for the air bag and the seat belt tensioner. I contacted a local dealership and was told that the recall had been closed. Can they actually refuse to "fix" this?

Service airbag light always on. Reported issue to GMC they stated that yes the 2008 GMC Acadia has a safety recall for certain VIN number and that although my Acadia has all the same equipment and airbags as the recalled Acadia's but because my VIN number is not on the list they are not responsible for the cost and that for them to repair the issue which is specified by the technical service bulletin specified for the airbag recall would be at my cost. If the recall doesn't affect my VIN number why is the repair exactly the same as the recall? the service air bag light is on at all times

The vehicle's airbag readiness light will illuminate and/or a 'service air bagż message will appear in vehicle's driver information center, the airbag toggles off and on when I have a front seat passenger. I found the following on your website: 15536 - special coverage. Certain 2008 – 2013 Buick enclave, 2008-2013 GMC Acadia, 2008-2010 Saturn outlook, and 2009-2013 Chevrolet traverse vehicles were recalled to address corrosion and/or loose crimps in the driver and passenger-seat mounted side-impact airbag (siab) wiring-harness connectors, which could cause an increase in resistance that may disable the siab, front-center airbag, if equipped, and seat-belt pretensioners. GM has received reports that, in some cases, the required repair may have been incorrectly performed by the dealer service technician. The GM recall number was N14030 (gfpe number N-140030) NHTSA recall 14V118. Dealers are to remove the section of the wire with the faulty repair and re-connect wires

My 2008 GMC Acadia has had a recurring issue with the passenger airbag sensor. A notification in the dashboard says "service air bag". I took it to the GMC dealership where I purchased it in richmond va soon after purchasing. They said they could not recreate the problem. It continued to be a problem. The GMC dealership in manassas va said they fixed it when I took it to them later. I took it back a month later because their "fix" did not work and the "service air bag" indicator still comes on. Before it would come on periodically, but now it is on almost all the time. My car does not pass inspection now and the GMC dealership wants $1000 to replace the sensor even though this has been a problem with the car since I purchased it from the dealer.

The air bag sensor/module in the passenger seat would work intermittently with the passenger in the seat for about 3 weeks, but is non-functional now (does not detect the presence of an occupant in the passenger seat) resulting in the passenger air bag being disabled at all times. I have gotten estimates from 3 different places ranging from $800-$1200 to correct. This issue has now made our vehicle completely unsafe for my family to drive and ride in!!!!

My 2008 GMC Acadia began displaying service air bag and turning off the passenger airbag intermittently when a passenger was in the front passenger seat due to the wiring harness under the passenger seat. After a few months it now stays on all the time. GMC said it's not under a recall but I have read several complaints about it with the same year make and model stating it's a recall this happens when in motion and while stoped

Takata recall- I purchased a 2008 GMC AWD Acadia about a year ago. While test driving the vehicle I noticed a whiny sound that I informed the dealer about upon return. The dealer checked it out and told me it just need power steering fluid. So he filled the fluids and I heard nothing for a month or so. I took the truck back for misc. Repairs two other times after that regarding sounds that I was heard coming from the vehicle. After that things seemed fine for a few months or so. Early September, the truck slowed down on the highway. The dash was reading 60mph but I was really going 30mph. Then while exiting to turn off the highway the power steering began acting up and was extremely hard to turn. I almost ran into the wall not prepared to use such force. August 29th I went to jiffy lube and had the fluids topped off and power steering fluid was full. I put the truck in the shop for a full diagnostic after the battery went completely dead and the vehicle would not start in October. They informed me that the power steering rack needing replacing and the faulty sun roof had flooded the entire vehicle with 1 1/2 inches of water. The battery died because the port was filled with water. From the beginning of September, when the power steering went out, the vehicle has only been driven very short distances (to the gas station on the corner, less than a mile). I called a GM dealer to check for recalls and there are none which is sad and a total rip off.

Since I bought the truck the I get an on and off message to service the air bag. Also while I am driving the truck over heats and when I come tona stop and turn the engine off and completely remive the key. The engine stays on and water pump starts to buble as if the water was boiling and after about five minutes there is no water in the pump and when you add water the water get extremely hot. I have seen in other forums where all have had the same issue. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the vehicle. I have four small children and donżT feel safe however the truck is financed and I have no option.

Since I purchased the vehicle the service air bag light has been on, now the transmission hot idle engine light is popping on and also service the traction control light and service stabilitrak ligt is coming on. Me my family had taken a vacation to Florida and the transmission began to startle all the way back to Tennessee leaving us in a devastated situation. I was hoping there was a recall on the transmission and and air bags this is very dangerous as many others has complained about the same issues in the past concerning their 2008 Acadia vehicles this vehicle was in motion on a city expressway with a high volume of fast moving traffic. I went to auto zone and O' reilly auto parts to have check engine test and the following codes appeared dtc P2762 torque converter clutch, P0700 automatic transmission control, P0171 fuel control system. And computer error. I don't know if this vehicle ever me recall but I feel me my family could have been severely injured as the fast moving vehicle was coming behind us as our vehicle lost power and connection.

Check air bag light keeps coming on. Took to dealer to have checked for $100. Stayed off for a while but now comes on sometimes it goes off. Makes me wonder if my airbag will deploy if there is an impact. Sometimes it is off when car is first moving then comes on. Its random. Started a couple of years ago. But it is on and off. My husband has checked it as well as the dealer. There is no recall according to website, but there should

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated and remained lit. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (preferred Chevrolet Buick GMC, 1701 S beacon blvd, grand haven, mi 49417) where it was diagnosed that the seat indicator module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 172,000. The VIN was not available.

Acadia 6-cyl

  • 5,123 miles
I purchased a 2008 Acadia in November 2016. The seller stated that they had to order a airbag and replace the old one. Alone with the seat belt. I didn't get the car until a month later. When I got the Acadia it was making some whining noise, wouldn't crank back up, rattle and clatter, dragging in the transmission like driving in a certain gears, noisy in neutral. Airbag, seatbelt and stability traction control light continue to come on. Needed a alternator and now the engine gone. I been having problem's with the car since I got it, and it been only 13th months. We were driving twice and the vehicle shut down on us on the in-state. We had to get it pull back home. Several times driving on the main highway and street it wouldn't go in great. I don't photos at this time. I would have to wait until tomorrow, to go outside and take pictures. When I got the vehicle the left driving side tire light continue to come on, still having problem's with changing the tires left back and right front. Don't know how many miles was on there. I tried to place an X N the seat belt and unknown other space, but it wouldn't let me.
