I received estimate that it will cost me $1,192.54 to have this problem repaired. I can't afford to fix this now and this is just another one of the very many ongoing major repairs I've needed to have done since I've purchased this car.

Wife complained about noise from front steering. Took car in for warranty check and they replaced the rack and pinion.

GMC Acadia in shop for transmission rebuild, while in shop found Rack and Pinion leaking.
Requires total replacement. Replaced, picked up, driving out of lot 3 warning lights display on dash and a loud noise.
Rack and Pinion in a bind, had to be replaced again and sensors replaced. Another week without my car.All in all 3 weeks with out my car.
GM Warranty ended on January 25th, all problems began on February 7th. Extended warranty covered Transmission and Rack and Pinion, but $300 out of pocket.
Update from Mar 6, 2013: I am dyslexic with numbers. The mileage is 74,000

After 32,500 I have to replace the rack. (makes a noise & the seals leak ) My GM dealer says there is no recall about this .Who at GM do I talk to about this problem ?? Thanks Richard Kirsch 215 723 2581 djkirsch39@comcast.net
