Acadia SLE 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission

The ac/heater works randomly. I will go to turn it on and it won't turn on, won't blow out any heat or air. This happens randomly all the time and it first went out in the summer when it was extremely hot.

I purchased my 2012 GMC Acadia in the month of May 2015 as a used vehicle and the very next day there were problems with it. Major complaint was the A/C making a hissing sound w/ low pressure coming out of the vents. I took it back and they said it would be fixed. They 'looked' at it and said nothing is wrong with it and that the hissing is just an annoyance noise. That it's how all GMCs sound. Took it back a few months later for same issue and all they did was add Freon to it so I would go away. Never mind that the noise and hissing continued regardless as I knew that there was a leak. Went back 3rd time, last Friday, the vehicle repairs will add up to about $1500- 2000 (per reviews in forums), because they looked at it on Friday and found a leak in the rear evaporator coil. They told my wife they would see what they could do on the price because this was 3rd time back there to the dealership. They'd better do me right on this. Also, what is up with your GMC dealership employees disrespecting people? My wife was talked down to and treated like she didn't know what Freon was. You need to treat people with respect and not talk down to them. This was the first GMC vehicle I ever purchased from GM and it will be the last. I have been screwed over enough by a company that obviously buys cheap ass parts and know they are going to wear out so the consumer can get stuck paying more out of pocket for crap that should have been fixed right the first time with quality parts. In comparison to my 1995 Nissan Altima which has NEVER had any A/C work done to it and it still blows cold air. Recently I read up on a lot of forums and found out GM knew all along about this ongoing problem with the A/C's in Acadia's and Enclaves. So why is it so hard for GM to build a quality A/C that works without problems. I am so pissed about the whole GM company, pawning off vehicles which has apparent problems and just lie to people to move a vehicle. I am going back to CarMax where I get treated with respect and get a quality product not some POS. You want to help me out with this fine, call the twits that sold me it and tell them they screwed up and that they should pay ALL to get this piece of crap fixed. They (GM/dealerships) need to admit to the general public that there needs to be a recall for these problems with the A/C. If your company has any integrity, do the right thing concerning this issue. It may not be a safety issue but it's still a pricey issue that GM has known about for YEARS. No wonder GM has gone bankrupt in the past.

The air conditioner does not cool as much as it should be. If we put it on automatic it stays on high the whole time feels like the pressure is not good but the back air is okay.

Another 700 dollars for a total of 3400 dollars in silly repairs on my Acadia! Again the main complaint is that it is ridiculous that the car starts failing this much just two months after the warranty expires and GMC just says that the warranty expired! Should I expect my truck to be broken in pieces just one day after the warranty expires!?? Now they replaced the AC piping and recharged the AC system for 700 dollars! Definitely I'm not buying a GMC again, I just sold it a few days ago and I'm driving a lincoln MKX with astonishing 4 years of warranty!

AC works intermittently. Upon start up, takes 3-4 minutes to began getting cool. Then, at low speeds (10-15 mph) or idling, the cooling shuts off. On hot days, this is definitely uncomfortable.

AHHHH yes, it is once again me making the same complaint!!! I have NO HEAT in the Chicagoland while the weather is once again in the teens!! I so regret ever getting this vehicle! I thought the purpose of a NEW vehicle is so that you don't have issues with your vehicle!? I am soooo over this car and what seems to be a lack of effort in coming up with a solution for this problem!!!!!!
