I'm not sure if this is the correct complaint area, but this is my complaint. Recently my airbag readiness light came on and continued to stay on. I took it to the dealer and they informed me that the cost would be $81 dollars just to look at it and then who knows what the end cost would be. This is a 2005 GMC Canyon and I guess I believe GM should take care of this. I'm not sure if this is happening to others with this model, but I would like your take on this problem. Thank you for your time. Also, there was nothing physical that occurred to the vehicle.

While the contact's wife was driving at 35-40 mph the vehicle hit another vehicle. This was a front end collision. Upon impact, the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a body shop for insurance inspection. The insurance company deemed the vehicle totaled, but was unable to determine why the airbags did not deploy. The contact's wife sustained injuries. She had bruises on right shoulder. A police report taken at the scene.
