Some 2015 GMC Canyons were recalled but not mine. It has the same problem as the other models. This is not acceptable. I hit a deer because I lost steering and could maneuver out of the way.

We purchased this used "AS IS" 2015 GMC Canyon. Two weeks later we were driving and the power steering is gone. Turned off the motor and after 10 minutes we started it like nothing happened. Took the truck to another dealership for diagnostic and was told it was the "power steering assist" but there is no recall.

I went home and found the opposite, there is a recall. This has been going on for 2 years. No one wants to claim responsibility or fix a defective problem that is incredibly habitual. The "temporary fix" was to change the fuse that gets corroded???

Now the changing of the fuse is not working... I called GM and have to get another diagnostic for $150 and GM said they would help. ???

Bought my Canyon new in 2015. After 80k miles Power steering goes off while driving and "stabilitrac" warning shows. Super dangerous as it is almost impossible to steer any tight corner in this situation.

Originally happened a few times randomly over a couple of weeks. Brought it to the dealer but they said not covered by bumper-to-bumper (nor recalls) and would have to pay $1500 for repair. After leaving dealer, issue didn't happen for 2 months. Then happened rarely and randomly over the course of the next few months. Now it seems to be happening regularly again. Not sure if due to warmer weather.

Amazing this isn't deemed recallable. Never again will I buy another GMC/Chevy/GM

OMG I have a GMC All Terrain 2015 truck that the power steering went out on 3 times in the last 2 weeks while driving. Talk about dangerous and there have been millions on this recall but my truck is not covered under that defect. Although it is the exact same part and manufacturer. GMC had us go to have it put on diagnostic machine which we had done prior but oh not by a GMC dealer. So $120. later the GMC dealership tells us the exact same thing. We are trying to get some help from GMC and spoke to someone his name is Dave he would not give his last name and said he was a supervisor. The Dave person would not let us to speak to anyone higher and he didn't even understand the problem with the steering column. Wouldn't you think he would have let us speak to someone with a clue. No help and also out the $120. . So very disappointed with GMC which I have owned chevy most of my life. NEVER NEVER again will ever purchase a GMC product. They don't care about peoples lives is what sums it up. Thank for nothing Dave and GMC!!!!!!!! BEWARE ALL.

The power steering assist goes out on my Canyon just about every-other time i use my truck, making it very cumbersome and dangerous to use. My vehicle gives a warning beep and a message is displayed - allowing me to physically grab the steering wheel with both hands and prepare if I need to make a turn. To get the steering working again, I need to shut off the engine and wait 5-10 minutes for the system to reset. Very frustrating and dangerous.

I had the local dealer re-install the steering software (hoping it will solve the problem - but that only worked for about 1 week, then the problem reappeared. Per dealer; next option is to replace some of the power steering components (estimate is $1800 with no guarantee that it will resolve the problem.

I believe this is my last GMC I will ever purchase!

Vehcile Power Steering stops working while moving and traveling down the road. Hard to steer the vehicle. Dealer says no engine light then there are no issues and looked at parts, nothing broken, no repairs.
