I am convinced that the 1999 and 2000 GMC Jimmy,Envoy and Chev Blazer are a mix of all three. I recently installed a remote start on my 1999 Jimmy, and with 14 different wiring diagrams, and the help of a 40 year GM mechanic with every certification there is, we finally got it working, and it works fine believe it or not, BUT IT TOOK 8 DAYS ! We are both retired, and it was a very long 8 days. None of the diagrams or instruction sets currently available were correct. We compared them to the diagram for my 2005 Envoy, and everything on the Envoy diagram is exactly correct. During our "journey" we discovered the solution to some other problems that have appeared here. For the gas gauge, you need to buy a NEW Delphi Gas Tank Sending unit, but it is only the arm on the sending unit that's bad. The temp gauge not working is a bad BCM, so we replaced it. Finally, we disconnected the battery, charged it to full charge, installed the new BCM and gas sending unit, reconnected the battery, cycled through the code reset with the ignition key method, and believe it or not, everything now works perfectly. DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM THE DEALER. ther are many reputable firms on-line, and we only paid $176 for a brand new guaranteed Delphi Sending unit - BE SURE IT ISN'T MEXICAN.
