Sierra 1500 LT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,000 miles

I am done with GM products! 3 of the 4 ball joints were bad. I’ve had my vehicle at 2 dealership service departments and they can’t seem to fix anything. In addition to this problem, the AC compressor has gone out just over 36,000 miles, and now the AC condenser went out. GM still has not changed this crappy design, and is not standing behind their product!

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

I purchased a new 2014 GMC Sierra SLE in July of 14. Within the first 1,000 I noticed an annoying vibration at 70+ mph and contacted the dealer service manager. I was told to bring the truck in when its due for service and this issue would be addressed since the truck drove perfect at 65 mph and under.

At 6,000 miles the truck was serviced and the tires were balanced and rotated. The service invoice stated that the vehicle "no longer had vibrations at any speed". On the way home (60 miles away) we drove interstate and immediately noticed the vibration again. The very next day, I emailed the service manager and advised him that the issue had not changed.

At 10,000 miles and less than 3 months later, the truck was again at the dealership for the same repair. Once again the service invoice showed the repair completed. Once again on the way home we drove interstate and immediately noticed the vibration again. The next day I called the service manager and bent his ear about this continued problem. He told me that he personally drove the truck to 75 mph and the truck drove perfect. what? Again we were told to bring the truck back.

At 11,000 miles and one month later, my wife drove the truck to the dealership for service and vibration issues. The service manager told me that they would try a "Roadforce" balance again. My wife drove the truck home and noticed the vibration continued. When I looked at the service invoice I did not see any work performed on the tires, wheels or suspension... Lost in translation?

In June of 2015 I emailed the service manager a video of two water bottles in the center console vibrating so bad that you could hear the plastic bottle hitting the beverage holder. No response. I just figured they gave up on addressing this issue?

So fast forward to March 2016. At 16,000 I was so damn tired of this annoying non-repairable problem, I drove the truck to the dealership to address this problem for the 4th and last time! I had found out that the previous service manager had passed away and maybe some of the reason for the lack of communication? I asked the new manager if he had emails of Subby, the manager that passed, and was advised that he did not... So understandably a little forgiveness on my end.

THEN- Yesterday I received a call from the service manager and was advised that they would have to replace all four (4) tires at a prorated expense to me of $380 to continue to resolve the vibration issues! What? That's right. I even contacted General Motors and verified that the tires had a 12 month 100% replacement warranty; anything over that would be prorated... So; my argument was that I had documentation from the first month of ownership and less than 1,000 miles that this was an issue...

My head is spinning. I'm seeing that other owners have experience the vibration problems but what about warranty issues??? A $48,000 pickup with 16,000 and I'm dishing out for tires? I had issues with a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche that I traded out of to this piece... I'm totally, totally done with GM.

IT IS BEYOND FRUSTERATION TO PURCHASE A $55,000.OO VEHICLE THAT BOUNCES CONSTANTLY FROM 72 MPH TO 82 MPH. IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES OVER SEVERAL MONTHS.

THEY HAVE BALANCED, REPLACED TIRES, BALANCED ,BALANCED WITH NO RESOLUTION.

I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TODAY WITH THE DEALER AND GM CALLED ME BEFORE I WENT TO SAY THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEY WANT ME TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND START ALL OVER AGAIN. IT IS SO OBVIOUS THE TRUCK IS BOUNCING BUT THEY CANNOT FIX IT. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW GMC TRUCK VERY THREE TO FOUR YEARS FOR 55 YEARS BUT YOU MAY BE SURE THE NEXT ONE WILL NOT HAVE GMC ON IT.

HOW MANY MILLION WILL THEY HAVE TO RECALL THIS TIME. I THINK THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO HAVE A BUY BACK PROGRAM FOR LEMONS. SUCH AS THIS.

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

After purchasing my 14 Sierra All Terrain with 13000 miles I noticed a vibration at hwy speeds and shrugged it off to just being the road I was on. Took it to the dealership where they told me there was a problem with most of the 14's but there was no fix yet. They would let me know when they had one. 1 year after the first trip (May 2015) I called GM who gave me the name to another dealership to try to fix it. Dropped it off, 3 weeks later they replaced wheel and tire, still has vibration. 3 Months later and 3 more trips to dealership. It still has the vibration. Starts at 72mph and gets worse closer to 80. Could shake water out of a glass in the rear cup holder. 9/21/15 Issue still ongoing.

Update from Mar 30, 2016: Dealer finally before giving up, replaced tires with 20" Michelin tires which did not take care of vibration until they road force balanced the tires. They couldn't get the Good Year tires to Road Force balance out low enough to stop the vibration. I have been driving on these tires for 6000 miles and still no vibration.

Sierra 1500 SLE V8

  • Automatic transmission

My truck shakes when speeds or above 65MPH. The shaking is worst when I pull my boat. It noticeable in the steering wheel and center console. I also have a musty smell that comes from the A/C vents. And why can't I get navigation with a map on my Intelilink? Looks like GMC just needs to add an App. The loaner truck that the dealership gave me is a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE and it has Navigation and a weather map!

After multiple times to dealership and they couldn't figure out the engine vibration. I took manners into my own hands and looked myself. within 5 minutes I found the problem. My harmonic balancer was bent pretty bad. I took it back and all they replaced was the pulley. They wouldn't change the seal. This balancer was bent, so the only way in my eye this could happen was they bent it at the factory. So I've been driving for 20000km with a bad harmonic balancer. I bet I'll have engine problems down the road.

Dealer tried to find the problem three times. Replaced the shocks, replaced the complete rear end, and replaced two tires. He was very nice but could never find the problem. He refunded the full price of the car. Not upset with dealer but unhappy with General Motors. The head lights shine in the tree tops when they are on high. I bought a used 2013 model and it is smooth as my family car

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra, it has a VIBRATION and the dealership said that there is not a fix for the problem. Engineers are looking into the problem so I have a $40,000 vibrating truck and there is not a thing that they can do about it because there is not a fix for it. So I am ass out, next, is it a lemon? I will be looking into the lemon law to see if it is. If someone has tried the lemon law place post something so we can work together on getting a new truck or getting our money back for this LEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken truck into dealer for repair and each time they say it is fixed, but it is not. After the third attempt, the GMC service manager in Southaven Haven, MS, told me he will not do a ride-a-long to feel what I feel regarding the vibration. He offered no suggestion on what I could do next. I have been kicked out of his service dept. for something that is GM's fault and not mine. He will not honor GM's warranty. I guess a lawyer is next and lemon law the damn vibrating thing!

I have a vibrating truck and a dealer who refuses to fix it! GM, look into this piss poor service dealer you have kicking out customers because he is not competent in repairing your vehicles. You have my Vin, you can find out who is kicking out customers. Think hard about who is representing your company. Everyone else, avoid the 2014 trucks, it is a crap shoot if you get a vibrating truck or not. Look on GM-trucks.com at http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153186-shake-or-vibration-issues/, there are 140pgs. And 2100 posts about vibrating trucks and I am one of the ones who spent $50,000 for a vibrator, with no real known fix.

The loose drivers seat is my other complaint, but that is for another posting on this site.

I can't believe a $50000 truck is not riding right. Had it at the dealer 3 times, wheels balanced but it still does not run right. It shakes at 60 to 100 kmh. IT'S EMBARRASSING. MY 2010 SILVERADO RAN BETTER THAN THIS. AND I'M LEFT AT A STANDSTILL.

This truck sucks. I have owned 30 GM trucks, but am about ready to buy a Ford or Dodge. Lousy headlights, and vibrations even after repeated balancing, etc. and even changing to Michelin tires. This truck does not ride as smoothly as my 2008.(or any of the many I have owned). It's a Z71 with Rancho shocks. Maybe that's the problem. I don't remember having Ranchos on my other Z71's. Bluetooth still only works part of the time. Really unhappy with this 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71.

HAVE HAD 2014 GMC INTO 2 DEALERSHIPS, TOTAL OF 4 TIMES. SOMETHING VIBRATES (bad vibrations at 50-55 and 68 and up) AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT. REPLACED ONE BAD TIRE AND IT IS BETTER BUT STILL BAD. NEED TO PUT A SET OF MICHELIN'S ON IT. HAVE OWNED OVER 100 GM PRODUCTS, MANY OF THEM TRUCKS. THIS TRUCK IS BAD NEWS. HORRIBLE HEADLIGHTS, VIBRATIONS, BAD BLUETOOTH AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING BUT CALL ME BACK AND SAY "IT IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED" THAT IS GM'S STANDARD ANSWER AND A TOTAL BUNCH OF BULL. ABOUT READY TO LEMON LAW IT.

MY 2007 LTZ PICKUP WAS FINE AND A BETTER TRUCK THAN THIS PIECE OF JUNK.
