car shuts off while driving car shuts off while driving car shuts off while driving

I was driving my suburban to work at 530 in the morning. Going down the highway at the speed of 55mph, I was driving on straight stretch of the highway and all of a sudden my suburban loses all power; the lights, the engine, everything blacks out. Nothing works, a complete black out. As my suburban comes to a stop, the car behind me going at highway speed hits me from behind.

I go to hospital with neck injuries and the guy behind me goes to hospital. His car was totaled and mine as well. Very scary day for me and for guy behind me. Sure sounds like a recall, if this is happening to multiple people with same vehicle type. I would hope that GMC looks into this electrical problem more seriously before someone dies in another accident, because of the same electrical problem.

Suburban 5.7L

Changed every item associated with fueling system as advised, then card drove for 10 minuts and shut off. Then was told spark plugs... changed, then told relay...changed, then told computer.......nothing resolved. Well over $2k later now it is a wiring problem. Why was this not considered a big enough safety issue to be recalled by the company, shutting down in the middle of traffic during rush hour with kids in the car is a for sure recall reason.
