You need to replace the wiring harness connector at the pump when the pump goes out or is disconnected. GM told me that the connector is made cheap and if it is not replaced it will short out your new pump after a few days. I went through 3 fuel pumps before I found this out.

Suburban 2500 HD

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

With only aproximately 68,000 miles i have had 3 fuel pumps replaced and now it seems like the fourth needs to be installed. each time the fuel filter has been replaced. Dealer has no solution except to replace fuel pump at a cost of about $500 to $600.
